The Bronx Brewery East Village & Bastard Burgers

10oz pours!!!!! way overpriced for a brewery taproom. How can you charge more for a pour vs Other Half (better beer) and superior location (higher rent)? The beers are 11.99-12.99 4 packs in Trader Joe’s. Many of the same macro production beers. If you are a craft beer fan like myself, I am hitting up malt and mold on 2nd or beer run in Chelsea. Darn shame Good Beer is gone.

I came on a Friday night and was planning on meeting a friend. Unfortunately, the music was so loud that I ended up leaving after finishing my food. I was confused as to why the music was turned up louder than a club in a place with board games and arcade games, where it would be nice to be able to talk with other folks even with my loop earplugs in, I left with my ears ringing! The burger was really good, so I may try and come back on a weeknight and see if the vibe is different!

Good food and fun energy! We came in on a night it wasn’t too busy and the staff was so kind and let us pick the music! Definitely recommend stopping in for a beer if you are in the area. Luke was a very attentive bartender!

Amazing spot in the East Village! Awesome vibes, incredibly friendly staff, and good beer and drinks. Luke was a great bartender who gave us recommendations and made us feel at home at the bar. They’re also a Bills Backer bar, so I’ll definitely be coming here during football season! #GOBILLS

Burger and bar joint on 2nd avenue. The good: - The barmaid was quite jovial and friendly. - The beer flight sampler was quite good, and between my wife and I we ordered 8 different sampling of beer, and many of them quite good. - we went during lunch so it was kind of quiet, but we can see that in the evenings, and weekends, its probably very lively, arcade games in the back, board games at the counter and in the basement; a dart board and various other games. The not great: - The food left a lot to be desired, the burger patty itself was paper thin and we tasted mostly bun; quite honestly the burger tasted like a frozen patty and heated on a flat grill and waif thin. - The onion ring was also waif thin, and mostly fried batter. Overall experience: If you are looking for a cool place to hang with a bar vibe with lots of craft beer options, then its all good, but the food lacked any flavor and felt as if it was school cafeteria level kind of food, if you are ok with mid level fast food but mostly looking for beer and hangout, this place is more than adequate, but if food taste and quality is important, then look elsewhere.

One of my absolute favorite places in the City! My rugby club has been patronizing the Bronx Brewery since they were just the place on 136th in the South Bronx, and we were psyched for the EV location. The burgers and beer are fantastic, but what makes it truly special are the staff that male you feel right at home - shoutout to Taylor and Za, and all the homies!
