after spending time in Japan, I came here looking for true Japanese cuisine. Specifically, I had the tantanmen…. It is NOTHING like traditional Japanese food and I won’t be revisiting. I couldn’t even drink the broth.
John and Dan was a delight ! was awesome, great atmosphere and excellent food
Omg after eating Ramen many times through out in Japan this place is legit! Everything was delicious and atmosphere was so nice and friendly. Can’t wait to go back!
I just need the world to know.. this is not your ordinary ramen. This place does everything with precision. The pork was cut thin(which is perfect for ramen) the kimchi was the best I’ve had in a restaurant.. EVER. And the broths would absolutely take you into a studio ghibli movie. I do wish the 100 cat scultures were waving but the batteries must have been dead, maybe there is a way to plug them up?
Loved this spot! The food was great and the service was awesome. My new go to for dinner to catch up with girl friends.
Chill Vibe, great seating arrangements, fast and friendly customer service, the food is amazingly tasty! Soups are filling and they're vegetarian friendly! Huge portions! Vegetarian options: There are plenty of veggie meals to choose from.
A vastly improved ramen restaurant in Ocean Beach! This ramen restaurant finally opened after about a 2-year wait. Its owner, who also owns The Joint across the street, sent the chefs to study ramen in Japan. They make a number of ramen dishes in different styles with plenty of extra toppings to choose from.
This was our first experience at The Bowl. The joint is an OB staple so we had pretty high expectations for what the bowl had to offer. The service was great, waiter was all smiles and very kind, and fast. The food was also pretty timely, we ordered shishitos, cucumber salad, kimchi for happy hour, all were delicious. We also got the smash burger, which was different but delicious, and the bowl ramen (pro move- dip burger in ramen broth). The ramen itself was yummy (a little expensive tbh) but still not gonna dock it points because it was good. I’d recommend to anyone in town, happy hour is the vibe, $2.50 sapporos, can’t beat that!
