The Boll Weevil Cafe and Sweetery

We were here yesterday and at first, things seemed to be going well. My husband got the Salmon and it was full of flavor. I got the Jerk sandwich with pasta. As I was swallowing, my tongue hit something that felt weird and I realized it was a wad of weave. It got stuck between my tonsils and I wasn’t able to get it out. The other half of my sandwich also had weave all in it and at that point, there’s no way it got there on an accident. I’m not sure what the deal was as we got seated by the hostess and didn’t give anyone any issues, but if your hair is falling out THAT much, you don’t need to be working in the kitchen. If someone put it in there on purpose, you’re disgusting and there’s a special place in hell for you. Also, where were the hairnets? Surely it would have prevented that. They did comp our meal, which we were thankful for, but we will never go back.

Loved this place in town and meal! Being from Mississippi, this was a great representation of what Augusta has to offer. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after enjoying a great church service at Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta (also recommend.)

The fried green tomatoes and canary lemon cake were to die for!

Yall, if you've never been here, you have to go at least once. The sweetery is amazing!

I had the Reuben. Hubby had the roast beef with fried green tomato. Mine was solid. His was absolutely delicious. The lemon cake was moist and flavorful. The live music was wonderful too. Lady had the voice of an angel. Parking: There was limited space in the parking lot behind it, but there was a field to the side to park in as well.

A friend and I went to Boll Weavil for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. We were seated immediately and got our drinks and appetizer ordered promptly. The place was nice and quiet, which allowed us to visit and enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. The bubba nachos appetizer was delicious and a good size (we got the large and had leftovers). I ordered the Curious George sandwich with pasta salad. It came out still warm and absolutely incredible. The turkey had a wonderful flavor and the spinach dip was perfect on top. I will definitely order it again. My friend got the fried green tomatoe BLT and she said it was very good. Our waitress was very attentive and helped give us a great experience! We will definitely be back!

It was wonderful, an excellent value with terrific service. It is truly a rare find. Highly recommended.

First off not a local but Boll Weevil came highly recommend. The service was great, tons of recommendations. I got the pasta creole which was fantastic if a lot of food Great flavors lots of spice. The real star here is the dessert. The slice cake was the size of a kitten. I got the Canary lemon and I cannot recommend it enough. It was light and refreshing and wildly moist. Next time I'm in Augusta I'm definitely coming back.
