Place was awesome! Really great food!
Awesome experience! The owner and her team have great attitudes and love the community. Will return again soon! Best European style croissants in Huntsville
The Bakingtist is one of my two favorite businesses in Huntsville! I've always heard you can't have all three, quality, cost and performance, one always has to be sacrificed but I'd say the Bakingtist hit the sweet spot! Delicious food, a fair price and you can tell how much the people that work there care about what they do. It feels like a little vacation every time I go there. The world needs more people and businesses like the Bakingtist.
We came here for the first time during the phase 2 grand opening. My husband and I were so impressed! The staff were lovely, the food was incredible, and the decor was adorable. Don’t sleep on the blueberry focaccia and bacon sandwich (but you literally can’t go wrong with anything on their menu). We’ll definitely be back soon!
Editing this old review. Showed up at noon for the Phase 2 relaunch to try the new sandwiches you’ve been advertising but we had to cancel the order after a 45 minute wait so my wife could get back to work for a meeting.
They were so slow that after 15 minutes my wife walked to moon bake shop, order food, got the food and came back! And we still waited 5 more minutes before finally having to cancel our order.
Maybe for Phase 3 you’ll integrate some satisfactory business practices. It’s a shame because this place has so much potential but only delivers disappointment.
Nothing about this place is an accident. The creations and service are next level.
Literally everything I have tried from this bakery has been top-notch. Croissants were flakey AF, as was the crust to a delicious apple hand pie.
“Is there crack in here?” was my first thought when I tried the monkey bread.
The blueberry “cruffin” was loaded with fruit yet somehow not soggy?!
Idk what kind of scientific alchemy the Bakingtist is doing in the dead of night, but the results are incredible.
Heidi, the owner, is an absolute gem, and it's obvious she loves every customer and her business. She saw that a customer left their full Dasani water bottle in the store and ran two or three blocks in Alabama's humid heat to give it to them. She treats you with genuine care and compassion and is known for it around here. The employees are also very friendly and I am always serviced well.
The food is also amazing!! I particularly love the kolaches and the fresh squeezed orange juice. I consider the prices reasonable considering it's downtown, made fresh in a small business filled with love, the goods are usually large enough to share, and NO TIPPING PRESSURE. The employees are paid a livable wage.
Parking can sometimes be an issue, but there's also a DGX parking lot close by; plus, I can usually see some open spots nearby since the Bakingtist is open early in the mornings.
Great atmosphere downtown, friendly staff, great espresso and pastries. I heard they were gonna start making delicious custom sandwiches with in-house bread . Can't wait to try it!
