This restaurant is now called Buatong. It's now all vegan. We aren't vegan but wanted to try the food. It was very good. We had the usual Pad Thai (tofu) and tried the yellow curry with "chicken". Soo tasty. We will def be back!
Even better than before they were vegan/vegetarian! Basil fried rice with chicken was delicious and the vegan coconut prawns absolutely blew away my expectations. Tofu pad thai could have been a bit more saucey but I can't wait to come back! Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian and vegan!
Fantastic Thai food. Wouldn’t have know it was vegan if they didn’t say it. Everything was delicious
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had, not the best Vegan Thai, the best overall.
No longer Royal Thai. Now Buatong Vegan Thai. Great food. Tofu, vegan chicken, and vegan beef options. Great food! Tried Panang V Chicken and Mango Sitr Fry. Delicious.
New name is Buatong Restaurant Vegetarian options: Menu is all Vegan.
It was delicious! Everything we ordered was just like I like it. It was a little slow, but worth the time. Vegetarian options: All Vegan
We were so excited to try the new and improved all vegan Thai spot until the service was not servicing. Me and my significant other ordered 2 dishes and 1 appetizer and a larger table behind us ordered shortly after. I was confused at how quickly they served the table of 8 before us 2, as we placed our order clearly ahead of them. We felt as if they wanted to impress them and get a bigger tip from the bigger table. Very upsetting we had to ask for other items that were missing on out table but already made and served to the larger table. Very disappointing because it was only us and the larger table, no other tables for the whole hour we were there.
I was excited to try their vegan menu. We were there on a Friday night and it was crowded, which I thought was a good sign. Unfortunately, they were understaffed. I ordered Spring Rolls, my gf ordered Drunken Noodles with “beef” and I had “Chicken” with peanut sauce. I can’t tell you about the spring rolls since they never came. The Drunken Noodles did not have a lot of flavor and not spicy at all - my gf had to look for chili oil to add (she also picked out all of the fake beef). The Chicken with peanut sauce was too much chicken and not enough spinach. The “meat” is seitan, which upsets my stomach if I eat a lot. I should have chosen a tofu dish. I have eaten there before and the curry with tofu was delicious.
This place is a gem with incredible flavors that seem to be one of a kind family recipes. The restaurant used to be called Thai Royal Orchid, but the new name is Buatong. Yes, this is a 100% vegan restaurant, but if you aren't vegan, give it a try! The lunch specials come with a beautiful array of food. I got the Yellow curry, and it came with a Thai side salad, fried spring roll, rice, AND a choice of chow mein or pad Thai. The chow mein was absolutely delicious and reminded me of the noodles you can get specifically in the Southwest Chinese (Yuunan)/Northeast Indian/Burmese region! Came with so many veggies! Note that I went on a day where they were short staffed, but everything was worth the wait! Don't let that deter you. Can't wait to go back! Vegetarian options: Everything on the menu is Vegan!
