Texas Theatre

This was my first time to visit this historic theater where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested back in 1963. We were at a special event to award students that had created their own short films. The competition was good as the young film directors, actors, and participants all watched to see who would win. This theater was the best venue to display their short videos. Concessions were good and the place had a good old time feel. I’ll be back for more.

J.D.Tippit is the name that came to mind as I accidentally came across this historic theater. From all appearances this is still a working movie theater. The Texas Theater on Jefferson Blvd, in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas, Texas still looks the same as it must have in 1963. My tribute to the Dallas City Police officer who lost his life here following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy November 22,, 1963.

Way beyond expectations!

Un lugar muy bonito, con el estilo de los viejos cines. Es una experiencia que apreciarán los cinéfilos. Cuenta con un bar en el lobby y la pantalla es muy grande.
