Dang. I was so excited to try this place after visiting Boston and seeing a similar Eataly location there, I immediately made reservations for my partner and I for Valentine's Day. What a let-down. The location is beautiful and this type of business just appeals to me as a former wine-shop owner and educator and caterer. I was expecting a great meal to impress my picky-eating husband. It was probably a limited Valentine's Day menu, but that wasn't an issue. We ordered the Lamb Skewers, two glasses of wine, Wagyu beef (a smaller cut than normal, perhaps?) with potatoes, the lobster pasta and another side of potatoes because that's one thing I know is filling and my partner will definitely eat. Most of the other items on the menu were too outside of his range to enjoy. Alas, the things he does love include lasagna, pizza, pasta with tomato sauce, meatballs, bread and parmesan cheese. Tonight's menu lacked any significant hint of breads, cheese, olive oil or tomato sauce. The food was bland and the portions were smaller than the price would suggest. There was no salt or pepper on the table, nor sensed in the food. There was no significant sauce to add flavor to the pasta, and even the spinach under the Wagyu beef tasted just steamed with absolutely nothing else involved. The beef had to stand on its own, which I guess is OK but unexpected. I really thought there would be bread involved somewhere. Breadsticks, perhaps? Something to nibble on? The best evidence there's something amiss was the potatoes... dry, flavorless, and too large. My pasta didn't come with a knife to bring them down to bite-size, and there wasn't enough sauce to save the dry texture. How on Earth does an Italian kitchen trying to make a profit NOT create delicious roasted rosemary and parmesan potatoes by the truckload for a night like this? They literally have an entire store packed with the right ingredients! The potato chunks tasted like they had been left in a food warmer since yesterday, and it ran out of warming fuel (we were eating early at 7pm, too). For goodness sake, toss diced potatoes with rosemary oil, salt and parmesan and stick a huge pan of them in the oven. Done. Nope. We left these awful flavorless chunks behind. Has tonight's chef made food before? It's never a good sign when you pay $230 for a meal (no parking validation) and while leaving you're discussing where to go eat. Neither of us could be described as particularly "big" or "tall", either. Alas, my plans to shop the aisles after dinner for delicious foods to make at home ended up seeming more of a vicious taunt rather than a way to recreate a spectacular dining experience. Italian food is not meant to be this difficult.

This spot has a charming vibe, especially for larger gatherings and weekend hangouts. Our routine usually involves swinging by for a late lunch or early dinner, where we drink and dine by the fire for 3-4 hours. Now, about the service team – they can come off a tad snooty, and their policies, like the fixed menu for parties of eight or more, can feel a bit rigid (more than a bit, its terrible) But, there's something about that wood grill that adds a cozy, countryside feel to the whole affair. The grilled dishes generally hit the spot, though I must admit, their pasta dishes left me wanting more. As for starters, the Beef Carpaccio and Burrata, which usually steal the show for me, weren't as impressive as I hoped. However, the Rib Eye and Tomahawk steaks are definitely winners. And let's not forget the Sourdough Bread with butter – it's a real treat. In my book, the appetizers and desserts steal the spotlight from the main courses. So, if you're famished and craving top-notch Italian cuisine, you might want to look elsewhere. But the coffee is exceptional, and the bar serves up some fantastic cocktails and premium liqueurs. So, there's that to look forward to!

TERRA-BLE! My colleague and I went there tonight around 7.30pm and everything from the beginning was super nice. Very welcoming host and very friendly server + server in training. I was not happy with the gas smell from the heater and they were able to change our seats. We got seated somewhere else and placed the order.Everything until then was great. Both of our pastas came undercooked, my ravioli was super crunch and chewy. My colleague’s spaghetti was pretty much the same. We notified another server about the quality of the food and he said that no problem. Then, we waited almost another 20-25 mins for the food to arrive and it was pretty much the same and even my food did not taste like truffle. My colleague ended up eating the spaghetti since we waited for our main dishes for along time, however, I was not happy with it. The busboy was cleaning our table and saw my plate was unfinished and asked me if something was wrong so I let him know about the problem. The second server came very late to check in with us about the second issue as well. Overall, we were served by 4-5 different people , but they were not able to make it right for me/us. I ended up leaving the restaurant mad & disappointed after 2 hours later. The manager even didn’t come to the table for the fiasco, I am not sure if he/she was notified, but they didn’t even try hard to fix. The server’s apology was not sincere enough for me since he didn’t even look me in the eye during our conversation. I know this was not fault, however, a tentative follow up would have been appreciated between two dishes, but it looks like they didn’t care.

One of the top rooftop experiences in LA The food is always great and extremely fresh. The drinks are perfect, the staff is friendly courteous and attentive, all together with an amazing view of the surrounding city. Best time to be there is late afternoon early evening.

Hosts didn’t let our two groups sit together when there were empty tables, (not even next to each other). We wanted a single table for a party of 8, but we had to have a specific menu. Not the best experience, food was regular for the price.

Great balanced meal, reminiscent of a higher end restaurant. The Bombette was spectacular

We had a great time once we found the restaurant! Take the elevator located in Macy’s to the top floor or climb a bunch of stairs in Eataly! We were given the option of outside or inside. It was very cold Saturday night, we opted for inside. We ordered stilled water and a Strawberry/thyme Mocktail. It was not sweet. We ordered the grilled sourdough bread with buffalo butter . A5 Wagu skewer appetizers. Followed with pasta and lobster for my husband and I had a whole branzino ( I had the head and tail removed before it was served) with grilled carrots, roasted potatoes and a separate order of pasta Pomodoro after I saw someone else’s plate! For dessert: Gelato table side and tiramisu (the presentation alone made it worth dining). No gelato picture my husband did not share! The food was delicious and expensive and worth a second visit . We did have to use our phones to see the menu. The patio had better lighting (brighter) then the dining room.
