Love the mimosa flight and vibes of this place!

My fiance and I just had dinner there, Feb 23, and I am not happy. I had a good chunk of my ciappino left including the crab and when we were given to go containers and a bag, the containers didn't fit in the bag properly. Everything had to go in sideways. WTH!!!! I am so pissed and what a waste of money. The ciappino is now on the floor of my jeep. Bad form!!!!

Chowder was awesome and the black spruce starlight was perfect.

Food: Fantastic. Truly one of the best vegetarian/vegan burgers I have ever had. They make the patties in house. Also in-house pickles, I believe? Vegan fries available. Pretty much the best Alaskan beer selection I’ve found anywhere. Service is good. The atmosphere isn’t the best. The music is loud and bad and the TVs kill the vibe. Drab concrete floor and decor. TV screen menus. Still worth it for the food and beer.

Burgers are very good—my favorite is the downtown style burger—and the truffle Parmesan fries are killer! Cool vibe. They serve water in 40oz malt liquor bottles. Nice option for dine-in and takeout.

Food was excellent, but service was not. Waited a good 25 min to even get a drink order. Waitress/bartender were less than friendly and wouldn’t make eye contact. They seemed unhappy to be there. Ordered the Halibut Alaskana which was great, and intended to get a dessert but she quickly took my plate and brought me the bill with an attitude. There wasn’t anyone waiting for my seat that would require me to finish up quickly as there were empty tables. Guess I’ll go down the street to get something else.

My husband and I went to enjoy a nice dinner together. The server forgot one of our salads we ordered. The chowder was amazing! Wasn’t a fan of the salad. We had ordered two of the flight mimosas and received one. We were also over charged over $20 and didn’t realize until we got home. Also, the server never checked on us to see if we needed anything.

My only complaint I'll get out of the way up front- its a little close quarters, and it's not always easy to get a seat. Other than that, they crank out great food. I always do a burger and fries, and they've yet to miss. Most importantly, I order my burgers rare (gross, I know), and this is the only chef in town that has the -unbridled audacity- to give me exactly what I ask for. And of course, the wait staff is top notch. Always a treat. Thanks TCT PS I'll spare you guys a pic of my burger. It does not look good (my fault), but it is very, very good.
