The food is amazing here. Came from Manhattan just for those tacos and they are worth it. Took a couple of friends here and so far everyone has loved them.

Tacos, tortas and quesadillas only. No rice or sides. No frills. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The steak was ok.

I’ve been coming here to eat since 2004 and the food is always tasty, if you want to eat a little taste of Mexico’s Authentic Tacos this is the best spot on this side of the island. Don’t expect a red carpet type of welcoming, depending of the hour of the day this place gets so busy, there’s no time for them to give you their fullest attention to describe each thing on the menu. If you want to eat inside the taco spot there’s no waiter or hostess. Order up front, eat then pay.

Taqueria El Gallo Azteca was an absolute gem in our New York dining experience. The food was unbelievably good, surpassing all our expectations. The owner's warm and kind demeanor added a personal touch to the meal, making us feel right at home. The tacos were simply fantastic. Out of all the places we visited in New York, this is the one we'd love to return to without a doubt. It's a must-visit for anyone craving exceptional Mexican cuisine.
