First time ever at Tapas, service was great!! Loved the ambiance
We walked into Tapas 177 on a snowy Tuesday night after flying into Rochester from Milwaukee. With no expectations, we found two open seats at the crowded bar. Cozy and welcoming, Tapas 177 helped us cocoon from the wintery weather. Schuyler, or Sky for short, took great care of us. He was very helpful and along with Tim, made our night fantastic. Sky mixed me two beautiful Mezcal cocktails and had wonderful dining suggestions. The food emerging from the miniscule kitchen was unique and tasted delicous. Sashimi Tuna Tartare Napoleon had me smacking my lips with pleasure. My Caribbean Beef Empanaditas called for an order of bread to soup up that piquant sauce. There was so much food, our order of pasta and steak bits was boxed up to go. Oh, the brussel sprouts disappeared into a cavern named my mouth. It was almost a magic act; here one minute, gone the next. If Tapas 177 is an example of the Rochester food scene, there's some amazing choices out there. Who knew? I hope to return to Tapas 177 before this trip is over. I loved it!
Tapas is not my cup of tea probably because it's a little and I'm a little bit older, they don't have much space and they have a younger crowd there, I would say something like 21 to 35. I've gone in there like 3 or 4 times and the people are always super friendly, that's the guests and the staff and that's refreshing. I haven't eaten there, but I heard the lamb chops were really good and I don't really drink, but I heard that the drinks are really really. This is a place that you can go and not be fearful love because it's a generally very sweet crowd of ppl . I hope this helps. Wherever you go have fun!
Was a great place to meet with friends Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs to enter but to get to the bathroom there are stairs you have to walk down
