Having dinner here is one of the things I look forward the most when on my Chicago business trips a few times a year. This time was maybe the best. One of the best steakhouses in Chicago. Their food and service never disappoints.

This has always been one of my favorite places but had the worst experience this past weekend! Arrived at 7pm and was told that the wait was 1 - 1 1/2 hour wait which we decided to wait and provided our phone number to be called when our table was ready. It was 9pm and we still had no table nor a call from them. They could of at least told us that they weren’t going to be able to accommodate us and we could of gone somewhere else instead of waiting and then running out of places to eat due to how late it was. Will definitely not recommend this place to anyone again.

This place sits at around a 3 and 1/2 rather than 3 stars. What I like - a steak house that’s BYOB, sign me up! the empanadas are straight up incredible. The portion sizes are huge with fair prices. My steak was well cooked and flavorful with a great chimichuri on the side. What was lacking - the side dishes, mainly the sous vide potato’s left something to be desired. My friend got a dish that wasn’t a steak and yeah, if you aren’t here for the steak or empanadas, I’d say the quality takes a massive step down. The atmosphere of the interior is great, but I went on a busy Saturday night in late February and the make shift exterior with heat lamps isn’t exactly ideal, but that’s forgivable as it’s more my problem for being hungry and not waiting for a table inside. Lastly, there was a miscommunication with the server who brought us out the wrong dish, but overall the service was excellent with very attentive staff. I think there are better steakhouses in Chicago, but this place offers a unique Argentinian flair to the dishes and overall it’s a decent spot. I just don’t think it’s worth waiting around for an hour to get a table if there are other steakhouse options.

Went to Tango Sur recently after our original restaurant was too crowded. They were also quite busy but told us we could sit at the bar and wait for our table and also order food. There were 3 of us at the bar. We ordered drinks and our meal. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious. I would have given them more stars if they had the option!! It was pretty loud inside but manageable. Parking is tough but, we pre-paid for a spot close by. Pricing is comparable to other restaurants. The 2 bar tenders were also very friendly and took fantastic care of us. Overall: Great food, great service and tough parking but worth the trip!!
