I love the idea of this place but the execution is poor. Hopefully they'll get it together, but on to the details. 1. It's overpriced for what it is, which is chick peas and vegetables. My plate with one add on and a lemonade was over $20. Not even Mamoun's, which blows it away, is more expensive. 2 . Except for the falafel, the food was bland. The tabbouleh, tomatos and cucumbers weren't that fresh or tasty. Everything was under-seasoned and there was a bitter taste to it. I think the parsley was a too strong variety, or just past it's prime. 3. Weak service. It inexplicably took a long time to order despite there being 2 employees standing right in front of me and no line. The food took a long time to come despite it being all pre-made vegetarian items. They left 2 things off my order - hot sauce which I paid extra for, and bread. On the bright side one of the employees was a nice guy who have me both versions of their falafel to try on the house, and the falafel is excellent. Still, they're going to have to do better on every other front to get my dime again. And it will have to be more reasonably priced once I get out of downtown Manhattan...
Ordered a bowl with quinoa and it came in a huge chunk that could not be separated
I recently discovered a nice spot for healthy take-away food in Manhattan. Their chicken shawarma bowl is particularly noteworthy - it's not only healthy but has also nice flavor. The pita served alongside complements the meal. I was pleased by the speedy service in the early evening. Also, a must-try are their meatballs, which are both very good and have a spicy kick.
Stay away from this place. I have never eaten mediterranean food that tastes like that. The rice was undercooked mush and all the toppings were just tasteless
Perfectly yummy food! I truly recommend EVERYTHING on their menu!
