They lock the door with you inside. But the food is really good! That’s how they roll. lol.
Super legit place, felt and tasted like I was back in Japan. Had the gyoza, tempura dinner set, and chicken skin yakitori, all very good. As of 6/13/22 you do have to call in ahead to reserve a table if you want to dine in though but the call was quick and painless.
New favorite izakaya in OC. Hondaya was our go to but I feel like lately we had been unimpressed and the wait is always so long. Takaya requires reservations (no walk-ins) but we called the day of and got a reservation for an hour later. This was a Thursday so maybe it’s harder to get reservations on the weekend. Everything we ate was amazing, the service was great and the pacing of all the dishes made sense.
Call to reserve a table that way you'll know you will eat there because its a very small restaurant that closes for public for private parties. Big issues finding parking.. you have to be almost lucky in addition to your required reservation. 3 star because I'm a nice person and don't get easily upset.
My family loves this restaurant, we always get treated politely. My favorite is the pork or chicken yakitori, food is so good (sauce too) . We thank our Japanese friend for introducing us. If you need simply ask them, they are very accommodating.
A very quaint and nicely decorated restaurant. The food is uniquely prepared. The rolls are light & tasty. I recommend.
My new favorite Yakidori place❤️
Tastes really great. Will definitely come back again. Need to make a reservation before coming in.
I lived in japan 6 years my favorite food was tsukune and was super excited to have found this yakitori and taste just like in japan! Even have Chu -His ❤️❤️❤️❤️
