What changed?? New owners? New chef? I don’t know, but this is not the same restaurant as a few months ago. Today’s food was terrible. We had 3 great meals here in the last 6 months. A few short months ago, this place was very authentic and I was thrilled at their food (the last amazing dish here was fish with black bean sauce). I thought it was expensive, but worth it. I grew up in San Francisco going to authentic Szechuan restaurants and know good Chinese! This used to be it. Unfortunately - it’s not anymore. I’m so disappointed. Today was simply awful! There were only shredded carrots and onions in our dishes and NO veggies. Dishes were incredibly bland with almost no flavor. My husband’s fried rice was literally thrown on the grill for a second with soy sauce and dumped in the box. The rice wasn’t even thoroughly mixed, as there were huge clumps of gooey unseasoned white rice throughout. I wanted comfort food and got the Singapore noodles. Last time they were spicy and flavorful, and packed full of tasty veggies. Today the spices they used tasted burned and bland, and the dish was disgusting. I couldn’t eat it. And last, but not least, the fried wonton skins that they serve on the side to put in the soup were horrid! They were stale and old, and were obviously leftovers that were refried and then re-served. Gross! I’m so bummed. I thought I had found my place, but now, I will never go back. $50 is SO much money to waste on disgusting food. So sad.
