Sweet Maria's Coffee Warehouse

Thought it was time I wrote a review of SweetMarias Coffee Warehouse for Google patrons. Firstly, I’ve never visited this location in person. I’m strictly an online customer. My first purchase dates back to the spring of 2008 when I purchased a coffee subscription. IIRC this subscription lasted over a 3 month period. One of the owners (Thompson Owens) would ship a pound of roasted coffee to me every other week. I would always choose an espresso roast as I was trying to learn the art of brewing espresso at home & through the research I had done it was necessary to use freshly roasted espresso coffee. So the plan was to use Thomason’s espresso roasts as a benchmark to my beginnings as a home coffee roaster. The subscription would rotate through all of the espresso roasts SM’s (SweetMarias) they offered and at the time there were around 5 or 6 styles of espresso coffees they offered with their coffee subscription. What a treat it was to have finely roasted fresh roasted coffee sent to me over that 3 month period. So here we are in January 2024 some 16 years later and I am still buying coffee from SweetMarias except the coffee I have been buying the past 16 years is green coffee that I roast instead of having Thompson roast it for me. I want to make it clear that I have been extremely satisfied with all of the green coffee i have purchased these past 16 years from SweetMarias & I should mention I have purchased green coffee from several other sources on occasion during this time & in no way have any of these other sources come close to matching the level of quality service I’ve always received from SweetMarias & why I’ve continued doing business with Thompson, Maria and all the staff at this coffee warehouse. Besides offering the best selection of coffee throughout the world, SweetMarias also provides an extensive array of everything needed to roast and brew coffee. If I haven’t covered it, their shipping has been outstanding, including the price that’s charged for this service. More often than not i buy 20 pound lots of coffee at a time and shipping usually for 20 and more pounds for $12, certainly no higher than $15 and I need to mention I live in Florida, about 2000 + miles one way. I also want to mention the excellent reviews of all the coffees SM’s offers. It’s quite a feat for the staff, including Thompson for them to be able to convey in a few paragraphs literally all that is needed to know in order to make an intelligent choice when choosing which coffee to select yet their reviews on tasting and all of the other variables you need to know, are written in a concise & easily read manner. If you’re for a place to buy green or roasted coffee, look no further

My partner has been ordering online for a decade +. It's the only coffee we drink! Every morning we have a freshly home-roasted small-farm coffee. We've sipped our way through wildly diverse regions and every coffee country in our lovely world . India Monsoon is my personal fave. All of our interactions with our sweet Maria have been awesome, professional and speedy. These folks are the real deal: as passionate about sourcing beans from small local farms that are unique and sustainable as we are about drinking them and supporting our world communities. Can't get more direct fair trade! We're planning a trip up to Oak from Santa Cruz just to visit our coffee mecca in their new(ish) digs. I finally got to visit. It's something we've always wanted to do. Three gentlemen are seated at two desks. Two were preoccupied, and the third assisted us. I wished they were more knowledgable about coffee, but they either didn't want to talk about it or were simply uninformed. Regardless, we're delighted we came in and will continue to order online.

If you are into or interested in roasting your own coffee, Sweet Maria is a genuine mecca... Lots of great coffee accessories too!

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Clean bathroom that’s worth calling out. We went there to pick up a coffee bag we ordered online. At the store they offered us a free bag and answered our questions. Will definitely go back
