I just got a call concerning my reservation on Wednesday(in 3 days), that I have to put a deposit for the $20 entertainment fee per each guest or get my reservation canceled. In short, I paid it. I’ve been to SGJJ before, really enjoyed it, and plan to enjoy my night again and spend the money because this place is nice. But this nickel & dime culture infecting these full bred ATL restaurants is going to be death of these legacy black-owned business. It’s ghetto and class-less. I’m all for capitalism fam, if yall trying to make ends meet and need to raise prices to match market demand just do that! Your max capacity is what? 120? You do 2 hour maximums and you’re open for 5 hours?so what is that? 240 patrons a night? Let’s say 300. Okay. So what is that $6K in “fee” revenue?! And you deem it necessary to follow-up with 200-300 ppl on a Sunday afternoon for 6 racks? Things really that bad over there? Yall can’t wait a few days? Got me up out my sleep to read numbers off a card for $40 like yall some debt collectors. Do better. Picture and video is from when I took my Mom and Aunt last year. Had fun. Needless to say I’ll be taking them somewhere else for Mothers Day this year.

My wife and I started our anniversary weekend with a dinner at the Juke Joint. We arrived around 6pm on Saturday Feb 10th. The young hostess asked if we had reservations and we said no, do we need one? The hostess said "umm, yes, unless you don't mind sitting at the high top tables by the bar. We said as long as we can order food, that would be just fine. The hostess replied, ok, and looked at me and said, "but you will need to take off your hat." I quickly removed my Costa Rica ball cap and said, No problem at all, it was raining outside when we came in. We were then seated at a table about 20 ft from the front door. Service was adequate, food was ok. We both had a fried chicken meal, I the 1/2 chicken plate and she the chicken and waffles. Both dinners weee ok... breading not great but juicy, brined chicken. The reason I gave 3 stars is because when I stood up to leave, I could count about 5 other men wearing "hats" and most of those weee ball caps, too. Average food and service, way below average class.

I rarely complain, but this hit home on last nite for my birthday celebration. I made a reservation for 845 pm, checked in then desk attendant stated we have you down and we will have you seated. Noticed a lot of unprofessionalism. A group came in and paid under the table to get a table. I can tell the table that was for us was given to this group that did not have a reservation. We waited for about 10-15 mins to be seated talking about the silverware has to be placed on the table. When we finally get to a table the table is not cleaned. Mind you the place closes at 1100, really didn’t enjoy the due to the rushing of getting orders etc. I have been here before an my experience was great, but this time it was awful. Food was subpar, only things that was worth it was the music, alcohol and the friendly waitress. The reservation attendant must not be at the door, didn’t get her name but she kept saying the business is short staffed, the workers are children, they don’t know how to handle business, and the company is under new management and that she does not know how to manage. I should not have been told this. It seems like she need to learn how give good customer service. I will never return to this establishment-I will take my money elsewhere were I am appreciated.

I went to SGJJ for my birthday(January 27, 2024) along with 5 friends and family. First, the parking lot at 150 Carnegie is the ABSOLUTE worse. There are no signs to guide you out and it can be scary and dangerous to maneuver if you are a woman traveling alone. Secondly, the food was HORRIBLE. The chicken wings that came with the chicken and waffles were HUGE and undercooked. Even when I complained they bought out another batch that I ASSUME that they have their food already cooked because the 2nd batch of wings was the exact same way. As a matter of fact, I KNOW that the food has been sitting plated in the back because you cannot make any changes. For example, my daughter ordered the salmon and she wanted to substitute the mash potatoes which they don't do and the potatoes were cold with absolutely NO seasonings. My guests ordered the ribs and she literally stated that she wash WRESTLING with the ribs to get the meat off the bone...THE RIBS WERE TOUGH as HELL!!! The only thing that was enjoyable was the live band. They were very interactive and saved the night. As a bonified FOODIE, I was extremely left unsatisfied and HUNGRY. As a matter of fact, I left the food in a location in hopes that a homeless person would get it. It is so sad that even telling people about my experience that they were all too familiar with the HORRIBLE food that's servied at SGJJ. I hope that they go back to revisit whatever they had in place when they first opened because it not fair to serve food that is so HORRIBLE and to expect them to PAY such an EXPENSIVE price for it. My bill was $56 bucks to INCLUDE the $10 entertainment fee. A few of my guest that arrived late only ordered french fries which they said was COLD. They truly need to change chefs or CLOSE because the food is really that BAD.

Thank you for not letting me in to My sister Stella Dumas birthday celebration after I bought new hair and caught an uber from Riverdale GA. I practically begged to get in the waitress said she was going to check to see if there was room for me and then came back and said too bad no room for you and I left to go and do some Karaoke but I saw the Hardrock Cafe and the waitresses were nicer and prettier and the have banging mash potatoes so every one reading this go to Hard Rock Cafe its better...Oh and then you lied and told my sister HottChixx WingsAtl that I got mad and left...I hope you flunk you next health inspection and Im calling your guys in the morning!
