Sushi on the fly prices you expect when passing through the airport are pretty high. The food was not bad quality. The small place was packed, as many passengers were passing through. The wait was about 45 minutes for the food. The one waiter did his best to attend to all the guests dining. The poke tuna with rice was spicy, rainbow roll sushi was average quality to other places I’ve been, but ok. Would eat there again if I had to, but planning a trip and having dinner first is a must. Which we couldn’t do because we flew all day, passed through three different cities. I flew home to St.Michael for a memorial for My Son. I do recommend this place though, better option than airport McDonald’s.
GREAT SERVICE AND BEAUTIFUL VIEWS. The Anchorage airport has incredible views and this restaurant is privy to them. The food was very good but the service was excellent. Helpful with advice on the menu and explained the many different rolls. Had the OMG roll and the monster roll. Both were made in front of me and were very good. This is a great place for a quick bite between flights.
Best sashimi I have ever had—thick, fresh chunks of deliciously flavored fish and the ginger and even the garnish tasted SO good! Very professional and happy staff. Atmosphere is a 3/5 only because it is in an airport. Please, please, please make a restaurant outside of the airport—I NEED more!!!
Best Mongolian Beef I've ever had.. small portions, best quality, quick service!
It's actually really good I had the bento box...yum
Crunchy roll was delicious!!!
EDIT: I just checked my bank statement and THEY TIPPED THEMSELVES!!! I purposely didn’t tip because one, they gave themselves a 4% gratuity already added on and secondly, the service was horrible. I forgot to mention that there was open seats and the lady told me not to sit a certain table. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN. Seriously so disappointed because I came here once 5 years ago and thought they were amazing. Now it’s just horrible. I’ve made many mistakes in my life and coming to Sushi on the fly was definitely one of them. I didn’t even touch my teriyaki chicken because the chicken tasted old and dry. Service was terrible, couldn’t even get a water refill or shoyu. $28 + 4% gratuity (was automatically added and I was eating alone, wish they would have put that somewhere because I definitely wouldn’t have eaten here) I expected the bento box to at least be decent but even the California roll weren’t good. I wouldn’t waste your time or money here.
