Sushi on Jones

For the amount you spend, the cleanliness was definitely lacking. While the sushi was good the grime definitely took away from the dining experience and would not recommend using their bathroom. We also witnessed them set trays of prepared sushi into the kitchen sink while waiting for the server to deliver them to tables. Neither of us left feeling great about the meal and wouldn’t go back again.

Fun, non-traditional spot for a quick sushi meal. Brought my little guy who is a huge salmon/tuna nigiri fan for lunch and we were the only ones here when it opened. We sat outside in one of the curbside booths given the weather was decent. I enjoyed the 12 piece omakase with a few nigiri pieces on the side for the little one. True to their branding, it was a true “30 minute omakase” experience. The fish came out expeditiously and was all very good, with a few fun twists thrown in- Everything seasoning on the salmon, a Wagyu piece thrown in, etc. The menu also contains a bunch of fun “premium” options- Wagyu/toro/uni nigiri, maki, and the like. The server was beyond pleasant and helpful. Worth a stop!

Sadly not what it used to be anymore. Omakase is a joke not one piece of premium fish. Waste of money.

We had an amazing experience at Sushi on Jones. First we were greeted by the manager, sat down and offered water or tea. Upon requesting tea they had a variety of black, green and buckwheat tea. We went with buckwheat. Then the waiter explained to us the menu and the differences between regular (12 course) and extended Omakase (20 course) with sea urchin and other sushi. Me and my fiancé went with one regular and extended Omakase. The sushi was extremely fresh and felt like it was flown from Japan. My uncle is a chef and owner of a luxurious sushi restaurant in Moscow and the only sushi that I tasted that was as fresh as there was at Sushi on Jones. Yes I had Sugarfish and plenty of other restaurants in NYC, LA and Boston. This is next level and only a true sushi enthusiast would understand. The staff was very friendly. We were attended for frequently by the waiter and the manager to check on our experience and refill our buckwheat tea. The manager was very kind and offered us Kaluga Caviar as a replacement in our 20 course menu which was incredible and a dream come true. Will definitely come back and bring all our friends and family.

We got the omakase - it was very expensive for nothing very consistent or flavorful. Our waiter didn’t explain to us the courses and didn’t bring chopsticks, water or soy sauce to our table while he was properly serving all the other tables - so that was a bit weird. Additionally this place is byob, which we did not know till we arrived. Overall pretty disappointed

Excellent sushi

The food was good but the service was bad, we had a reservation at 9pm but it wasn't until 10pm that we got seated. There seemed to be only one server and chef. I liked the spicy tuna Maki roll and thought it was good value. I'd perhaps order takeout next time around.

Awful. I spent 91 dollars on 12 bad pieces of sushi and a terrible miso soup. I truly have never left a review and hate the idea of a bad review. Awful, empty on a Friday night
