Sushi Kappo Tamura

We came here for our anniversary and we highly recommend this place for special occasions. Food: We got the Omakase with wine pairing at the sushi bar. The chef did an amazing job preparing the sushi! The ingredients were super fresh and everything was so delicious. We had several "favorites" : toro, salmon, tuna, sweet shrimp, and uni steam egg. The sakes paired worked really well with the dishes, although we wished that they included more as we finished the sake 2/3 of the course. Ambiance: We love the decor, it was very modern with some intricate lighting. The use of wood made this place feel very relaxing. If you are looking for a place for special occasions and you are okay spending 150+ per person including sake pairing, this is one of our favorites!

Food is incredible, but it’s the care and attentiveness to the dining experience that sets SKT apart. We’ve been going for over a decade and chef Taichi and his staff never disappoint.

Tried to come for dinner on a Wednesday night. Almost every table empty but they refused to seat our party of two. Hmmm….

It was nice when you used to be able to walk-in, but for good reason SKT has grown in popularity so I would recommend to always book a reservation or you may not get a table. It has a great mix of traditional sushi items, as well as unique offerings that we can't find elsewhere. We used to always order à la carte but recently tried the omakase and the slight variations are awesome.

An amazing experience. Service was attentive but not overbearing, food was to die for the 5 course is more than worth it and for my partners birthday they gave a free dessert. Our server was very thorough in letting us know exactly what each dish was and even where ingredient came from. Would love to come back and try their omakase. Parking: We parked on a hill on the otherside of the intersection, unless you're somehow able to find street parking there looked to be a parking lot under the overpass in the block next to the restaurant

I brought my Japanese family to this place because of the solid reviews and we all got the omakase. Too bad it didn't live up to the hype. There were a few items that were good, but the chef's selection of fish was mid and almost insulting to anyone who chooses the omakase. If you're going to serve the cuts of fish that anyone can get from a supermarket sushi tray then don't bother with an omakase. The service was also weird and not what you'd expect when paying over $150/pp. Overall a very unimpressive experience.

The Omakase experience was incredible. Taichi was friendly and welcoming and the sushi was amazing.

We celebrated our 10th anniversary here at Sushi Kappo Tamura and it was an amazing experience dining with them. We had an omakase with 2 appertizers and 12 pieces of nigiri. All of the pieces are fresh, some of them are well marinated or topped with special seasonings. Yuzu & Yogurt Panna Cotta is a must, super refreshing, and creamy This place is pretty traditional. Sitting at the bar and being served directly by the chef is my fav The restaurant by itself is well decorated and vintage.
