Finally found a Quality sushi restaurant in Long Island worthy of being called a Japanese sushi restaurant. Sushi is excellent, service is slow and atmosphere is okay. If you are a sushi snob like me. Kuryu is the place to go authentic sushi.
Had a lovely lunch with co-workers. The food was excellent! Some of the best sushi I ever had. Service was very good - not rushed. Highly recommend.
Very overrated! The food was expensive and I don’t see why. Taste very average and sometimes below average. Service was good but the atmosphere is cold and makes you want to leave right after you finish eating.
I’ve found my new favorite sushi place. So delicious, aesthetically pleasing, so fresh!!!
The former Sous Chef of the original Nobu downtown has moved KURYU from Brooklyn to Roslyn in Long Island and the quality has only gotten better. The $150 omakase is very filling and I loved the way everything was coursed and the quality was tops. I am sure the smaller sushi sets for $40-55 are also wonderful. Chef Teruo uses fresh local seafood from the adjoining market as well as imported from Japan. This is worth a trip from the city or if you're in Nassau county, conveniently located next to the LIE.
Hands down the BEST sushi on Long Island! The service is amazing and the sushi is so fresh. Highly recommend this spot!
Fish is very fresh and delicious. Best restaurant in long island for sure!
This place had a very unwelcoming environment. Stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes and had to chase down the waitress to ask if they were still taking tables to be told that it was reservation only ( I called 2 hours prior and no answer to the phone) even though there was only 3 people in and there was plenty of open tables and people being served at the bar. Waitress seemed rude and unwelcoming and the sushi looks great but I don’t think the food would be good enough to make up for how poor the service was.
