KURYU New York is run by the top Japanese star chef Teru Yoshioka, who has 35 years of professional experience working at authentic & fusion Japanese restaurants both in Japan and the US, including renowned Nobu Downtown for 16 years, where he served as a Sous chef. In early 2022 the business faced with severe downturn due to a labor shortage and was forced to close the kitchen lab in Park Slope Brooklyn in April. However, with strong support from patrons and fans, in Dec 2022 KURYU New York Kitchen Lab officially reopened its doors to customers as SUSHI by KURYU, in Roslyn Heights, Long Island located inside of Roslyn Seafood Gourmet.
