Sushi 69

I'm so confused as this place had such good reviews.... but the meal we ordered was really not very good. We didn't finish any of it which for me and sushi, never happens. We ordered miso soup which was very unusual and lacking in flavor and 3 rolls which were all disappointing. The fish itself seemed good but the rolls were poor and the rice in them was extra wet so none of the rolls could be picked up without breaking apart. And even when you got them into your mouth, they just didn't taste very good! We ate very little of them as well. The service was excellent- they were very attentive and kind. I'm truly confused by the quality of the food.... my guess is it was just an off night but I won't be going back to test out that theory as it was a lot of money to waste.

Super awkward on a Tuesday no help with seating and no staff standing there for 8 minutes and chef asked if I needed help??? I said “yes I want to be seated so I can eat tonight”and then she said ok sit anywhere but tables were not cleaned so I left atmosphere people looked puzzled on when they would be served too bad they used to be good what happened to 69?

True story, Sushi 69 used to be 6 Stars, it’s still holding on to 5 post pandemic. Things have changed, rolls are inconsistent and you have to pay attention to your details. Amy gets the fish and they are still getting GREAT quality fish, deep red maguro and tender fatty salmon. I love the avocado rolls and appreciate the eggplant tempura roll. The tofu agadashi is delicious. This is legitimate sushi in San Anselmo! Vegetarian options: Great Tofu Agadashi.

Sushi 69 is amazing as always! The fish is always fresh, the service is amazing. Love love love Sushi 69. We get takeout and we are so happy that the restaurant is open for full service. Sushi 69 is the best!

Tiny place but wowsers, some of the better sushi that I've had in a while.

We had to leave due to the waiter being both rude and not even knowing the menu. Didn’t even get to try the food. She’s making this restaurant look bad. I wish we could’ve tried the food but she was too much to tolerate.

Service was inordinately slow, but food was delicious. Good sake selection and knowledgeable staff.
