Superkhana International

I've dined in twice now, once about 6 months after opening, and just last night. Both times our party of two sat at the bar, which is well lit and busy (good for people watching!) The Manchurian potatoes are a show stealer, somehow crispy AND creamy. The butter chicken calzone is also popular for good reason. The pork baos were also delicious, though $14 for 2 small baos was definitely not worth it. We also had the naan, which is more of a 'puffy rolled up pizza crust' bread than the naan you're picturing. Again, not bad though. My main warnings are: A - do NOT pay the $9 for theiir 'spicy sauce' plate. Besides the chili crisp (which was fricking delicious), you get three small dishes of the saltiest sauces you've ever had. They JUST border on inedible, though the other flavors are well done. I kept trying them, thinking 'surely, I mis-tasted that'. Alas. I asked the server if they were meant to be this way and was told yes, and that she regularly gets questions/complaints about them...why the recipe hasn't changed is beyond me. Also $9 for that little plate is a ripoff, but that's the case with basically every menu item here. You know what you're getting into, and that leads me to: B - the prices here are outrageous. Every single item we had should've been at least $1-2 dollars less. The drinks are also very not worth the price (though they are original, I'll give them that!). Stick to the wine if you must. And before you say 'maybe it's so they can pay a fair wage, benefits, etc', just know there's also a mandatory 20% service charge. Very long story short: worth a try but not worth putting in the regular rotation.

Great experience. Ordered the broccoli rabe, the Manchurian potatoes, and the butter chicken calzone. Everything was delicious. I love that the dishes are ones that you can’t get anywhere else.

Interesting the on Indian food!

Last dined at Superkhana several years ago around the time when they first opened. The food then was nicely prepared, clean tasting and beautifully presented. Last night's dinner however was a big let down. Took a friend there even though she didn't particularly care for Indian food. In spite of it, she was game enough to try it. We ordered 3 plates -- Broccoli Rabe + Kabocha Squash, Mushroom Masala Fry and Pork Belly Vindaloo. We were famished and found the portions meager especially the pork belly. Pork was overcooked! Good thing the pork still had a tiny sliver of a fat cap otherwise we'd have trouble choking it down. The flavors not as clean and vibrant as what I had in the past. There was a bit of a drizzle outside while we were dining and the dining space was a bit chilly. The hot drinks menu basically consisted of chai and coffee. No plain tea. The chai was served in a tiny glass, about the size of a demitasse. Definitely not enough to warm up with! We skipped dessert as there was nothing there to entice us. The service was fine but can't justify coming back in the future. Especially embarrassed having dragged my friend to try a place that didn't live up to expectations. Parking: Managed to snag a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. Try to avoid Diversey if traveling west to avoid rush hour traffic.

This is my favorite restaurant ever. The staff is so thoughtful and the food is absolutely out of this world ! Chana chaat is so good.

Such a fun place with amazing service and unique and flavorful food!! Definitely will return! The Paneer Pizza is unreal and the old fashioned is just lovely!
