I love this place for breakfast. Easy to get a seat when you come early. Food is great and just the right amount. Service was top-notch.
This place is the definition of "hit or miss." We've had good meals here, and we've had bad meals here. Today we had a bad one. There are two really good servers at this spot, and one really bad server. Today we got the bad one. She never brought syrup back or coffee refills, and doesn't know the menu. They also have good cooks, and incredibly mediocre ones. Today we got the mediocre ones. When the homeless women came in and sat next to our table, it was the cherry on top. No hate toward her, she just wanted some heat, but it was still uncomfortable. The food was not great today, the service was not great today, and the atmosphere was not great today. Just a weird, unfortunate experience and I don't know if we'll be back.
Sunny side diner, 4/10 Traditional American breakfast. Fast and casual has an open atmosphere that feels slightly more modern than the outside would suggest. The traditional tastes exactly how you would imagine. Like waking up at your best friends house and their mom makes breakfast. Similar to your mom but something’s slightly different, just a little flat but still good. There is a hometown feel from the kitchen, 3 cooks. 1 handling his bread with his bare hands. A change filter light on the ice machine and notable dust build up on hvac directly above bar counter. Service has its moments and like many places it depends who you happen to get. Overall this is a local spot. Easy and accessible. Nothing particularly mind blowing for your average visitor however there is most definitely a personal value here if you commit the time to become a regular.
It was freezing inside. Even the staff were wearing jackets and coats. There was 1 working bathroom. The sausage links I was served were cold. The biscuits and gravy were ok, but the over medium eggs we all ordered ended up being over easy. Will not return to this location, and if it is part of the other Sunnyside restaurants, then the owner needs to make changes.
