I usually don’t write reviews, but feel a PSA is required. I stopped in for lunch and ordered a sushi burrito. It cost $21 after tax, and was equivalent in size and value to a basic sushi roll ($7.99 on their menu). Maybe the other menu items are a better value, but I won’t be back to see. I used the high ratings to give this place a try, but feel they aren’t justified based on my experience.
I came here with my dad while he was in town, because he loves Thai food:) I'd never been here before, but I was very impressed with the menus and the service. The menus have all these beautiful pictures of the items (my dad really liked that; he's not THAT old, but he loves pictures). My dad, enticed by the picture, of course, got the Dry Egg Noodle. I have no idea how he was on a call the entire time and still managed to finish his food before me... Guess it must have been good! My Teriyaki with Tofu was amazing. Just what I wanted and expected in a teriyaki dish; the tofu was fried to perfection. I wanted to make a special point regarding the service here. Our waitress was so polite, friendly, and all smiles. She made me happy to be there, what can I say? I had some leftovers (my father did not), and she even boxed/saran-wrapped them for me. I don't think I have ever been somewhere like this, that didn't cost a fortune, and had my food boxed for me and brought back to me. It was the cherry on top of everything, really. I won't be forgetting Sumo anytime soon. I had a wonderful time with my dad, over some delicious food, and in a wonderful place. I hope to be back again soon:) Vegetarian options: I got the teriyaki with tofu, but many items have tofu as an option. Teriyaki is always a safe bet in terms of sauce ingredients, at least for me, a vegan. I likely would have asked about the ingredients of the curry, if I hadn't actually eaten curry the night before, haha.
Some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while! I had the Eskimo Roll and beef Pad Thai. The beef was tender and so yummy! Everyone is so nice as well. Don’t forget to come here for happy hour! This is my new go-to for sushi for sure!
The perfect food served with kindness and a smile. I would recommend the Eskimo Sushi Roll and the Beef Pad Thai, both were extremely tasty. The service was also exceptional and I would highly recommend this place
Food was alright, it came out fairly quickly but all the sushi rolls we got (crunchy crab, crunchy shrimp, and Spider roll) were lacking flavor and not warm. Edamame was cold and not salty. The best thing we got was the crab rangoons. Took a long time to get our check.
This place was so good and they're friendly. I've had sushi all over Hawaii and California, and about 12 sushi places in Nashville. This place is definitely up there. will definitely return. Thanks Sumo.
Wow! What a great find in Nashville. I was visiting my family and we wanted some tasty Thai food. Ming was an excellent host and ensured we had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend stopping by for a meal.
