Sumos is one of my favorite restaurants and my recent visit was an enormous letdown. The food portions have been fairly significantly decreased, no vegetables in the rice??? The wait time was longer than normal, which isn’t an issue for me as I understand staff is learning and adjusting to new management. I hope there are improvements in the future. Please get rid of plastic silverware.
The food was just ok at lunchtime. The salad dressing was watered-down. They now give plastic forks to eat with.
This place is super slow they told us 30 minutes and it took 2.0 hours they absolutely ruin my wife birthday I will never in a million years go back there.
Esperamos una hora y media por la mesa pero el cocinero se portó súper amable con nosotros y la chica que nos atendió se disculpó con nosotros por la larga espera.Despues de todo,la comida muy buena y el servicio del cocinero y la mesera súper buenos.
The hibachi chefs are always fun, engaging, and friendly
Great food and staff. Very friendly. Prompt service. The chef gave a great presentation.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at SUMO in Columbia, SC, and it was an absolute delight. Even though it was lunchtime, we couldn't resist trying the dinner portion of the NY Steak and Chicken Meal at SUMO. This generous meal came with a satisfying combination of flavors and delightful accompaniments. We enjoyed a comforting bowl of soup that warmed our taste buds and prepared us for the feast ahead. The salad was fresh and crisp, complementing the main course perfectly. The meal's highlight was undoubtedly the NY Steak and Chicken—the steak cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with a mouthwatering char on the outside. The chicken was equally delicious, tender, and flavorful. Both proteins were expertly seasoned and left us craving more. The portion sizes were more than generous, providing us with a satisfying and filling meal. Despite being already satiated, we couldn't resist indulging in the small ice cream served at the end. It was the perfect sweet ending to our delightful dining experience. Overall, the NY Steak and Chicken Meal at SUMO exceeded our expectations. The combination of flavors, generous portions, and thoughtful details, such as the soup, salad, and dessert, made it a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you visit for lunch or dinner, this meal is a must-try for those looking to savor a delectable and satisfying feast.
