Summer House on the Lake

This is the third time I’ve dined at this restaurant. I ate here two days back to back within the first month of opening. The first time the food was average at best (chicken on salad so dry it was like jerky) and expensive, but I loved the look of the place so the very next day we went back to give it a second try after all, it can take a new place a bit of time to get their legs under them. Again, the food was not great and the service was meh. About two months later I was back in the area with my husband and daughter, and we went one more time because my daughter had seen pictures and thought it was very beautiful. It was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. They completely forgot to bring my food out, and I didn’t even have the opportunity to tell my waitress because she was nowhere to be found after taking the order. Food runners brought the food to the table and we never saw her till the very end when it was time to pay, when she found out food had not been brought out she offered to give me a cookie, which I declined. Every time I’ve been here the service has been mediocre , but this time was extremely poor. I will never come back here again! The management has got to get on top of the poor service and cold dried out food. What a waste of a beautiful decor.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it's really only worth it in pictures. The food was pretty tasteless. The guacamole wasn't very good despite being a featured item. The chips were just okay, but the guacamole and salsas on the side really didn't justify the price. My wife and I both got the cobb salad which was decent, but really just okay. Again not worth the price and there are better versions elsewhere on property. We did really enjoy the cocktails we ordered, both of ours had unique flavors that ended up being well balanced drinks. We never got a water refill, and the tables all around us had trash dirt and cutlery on the floor. Details matter. The interior design of the place looks like my sisters Pinterest board, complete with random words on the wall and a really unattractive faux tree right in the center. Really? We're in Florida with an open air restaurant and you install a faux tree as a centerpiece. Eat'n Park had real trees in Pennsylvania restaurants back in the 90's. All around, expensive and just okay; I doubt we'll be back.

I was so excited to come here for my birthday lunch but it was a nightmare from the start. I tried to get a hold of someone for weeks to add more to my reservation (it only lets you book 6 max online & I had a party of 10.) I left multiple voicemails and never heard back. Thank goodness I am local and was able to drive to the establishment in person just to speak with someone. (Which was still a pain and obviously didn’t do anything.) Their “event manager” was able to add the extra people to my reservation. Only come to find out when I get there that we will not be sitting together because they’re “busy” and we’d be sat on opposite ends of the room (as the hostess rudely said to me.) This was a Monday at 1pm. 1:30-2pm rolls around and half of the establishment is completely empty. So it was not “that” busy. (Mind you I booked this reservation WAY in advance.) it also would’ve been helpful for them to let me know if if we did want to sit together maybe to wait & book it for 2 pm if it was less busy, (I don’t know common sense?) Since the restaurant was half empty then? Anyway, they continue to split us into two tables and there was a table directly next to us that was open, but they refused to let my party of 4 sit next to us and they wanted to sit them diagonal from us even further. I kindly asked them if they could sit next to us, and they kept telling us no. I’m not sure the reason they just kept saying no. (Even though it was a table for 4 as well.) A male manager comes out and is so rude to us saying there’s nothing he can do and we should’ve done this etc etc & if I wanted to have 10 people there then I needed to pay extra for an “event”. (NO one mentioned this to me.) Even after I went there in person and spoke to the event manager and told her how many people I had …..I’ve never been treated so horribly before like this. I was so embarrassed for all my friends that I had invited. This wasn’t even the worst part.. We were seated in the corner of the main room where there was absolutely zero airflow. I have never been so uncomfortable or overheated in a restaurant establishment in my life. We planned to go to Disney after & thankfully my mom brought a mini fan with her that I sat in front of me the entire entire lunch because I was getting so sick from being so hot. (There are no fans.) I got so overheated that I almost had to leave and had to keep getting up to go to the restroom and didn’t even get to eat the food because I was so miserable. It was quite the experience… I’m not sure I’ll go back, but I don’t recommend you having any more than six in your party because you will not be sat together and they will not tell you this and then be rude to you about it.

Finally, an awesome Italian dinner in Disney Springs!

OHHHH . . . . . . . MY . . . . . . GOODNESS!!!! GO - EAT, DRINK AND RELAX HERE!!!!! Disney Springs has brought in an AMAZING new restaurant. Listen, we are frequent Disney Springs visitors and we have enjoyed Many places down there. All of them are excellent. This one is Supreme! We had an 5+ star experience. We really felt like we were in a luxury 5plus star hotel or spa. Seriously this place is a Must visit. {Now, before I share my experience, I need to let the restaurant know that if their business booms from this review, I need a code word to be sure I can set a reservation! } Speaking of reservations, I highly recommend setting one for this restaurant. We noticed a lot of guest coming in to dine with them. This treasure is located near the West side, by Splitsville. You step into a restaurant that immediately greets you with elegance, serene and comfort. We asked to be seated on the back patio overlooking the water. It was absolutely georgeous. We had a beautiful 73 degree day so the experience was elevated that much more due to amazing ambience. We had a delightful and kind server by the name of Angela (Angie?) from Columbia. She was so informative helping guide us through the menu items. She was kind enough to share with us, her favorite dishes and other diners favorites. There is a lot to choose from and most options are sharable in our opinion. We began with reviewing the menu over a beautiful before lunch drinks. I found my new favorite Prosecco, my dining partner enjoyed a cocktail ~ jalapeño business that was unique, flavorful and delicious. After our first few sips we finially decided on some food. We took the advice of our server and began our order first up - jalapeño cornbread with honey butter and shredded Brussels sprout salad. The corn bread was seriously, the best corn bread I have ever had! (I'm very serious!) The accompanied honey butter was so delicious and not overly sweet, the combinations just worked so harmoniously. Our Brussel sprout salad with peas, toasted almond, bacon and mustard dressing, was absolutely a beautiful cohesive dish that really had amazing balance and flavor. No one flavor overpowered the other, Heavenly. We then ordered another drink, myself a second prosecco (after all it is my new favorite) and my dining partner the grüner veltliner. We have experience with this wine so it was a delight to see it available on the menu (order it if you enjoy clean, crisp, refreshing, well balanced white wine [dry]) We ordered fish taco's and the special of the day. The tacos were fantastic, full of great flavors from the chipotle crema to the salsa verde everything was amazing. The special was a huge, full grilled chicken breast covered in a lime tahini style rub with a dill cream sauce that paired beautifully together. Chicken was well prepared and the cucumber salad was a refreshing accompaniment to the chicken. We finished with one of their well known cookies. Overall, this place is a must go visit people! Seriously keep them in business please. This restaurant we will faithfully visit every time we go visit. Thank you Staff at Summerhouse! Compliments to you all!

When you first enter the restaurant, you are greeted cheerfully with the staff. We went for dinner and ordered had the Cheesy Puffs, Ahi Tuna and Watermelon Tostadas and Grouper Fish and chips with a side order of Crispy Brussels Sprouts. Which all tasted delicious. They also have a good selection of specialty drinks. We lived it so much we came back for brunch on Sunday. Our server was Kiarra and she was the best! She was friendly, attentive and had excellent customer service. We came back for a quick bite before we left for the airport Monday and ordered the BBQ Ribs and Brussels Sprouts(again) as it was THAT good! Our server was Brittanny and she was likewise very friendly, attentive and excellent customer service. If you are in Disney Springs or in Orlando, be sure to dine at the Summer House on the Lake. You will not be disappointed. Plus they have a HUGE selection of home made cookies!

Update: second time here and boy was my food awful. I wanted pizza but arrived a little early and they were still serving brunch. Omg that Mexican dish was gross. The combination was not complimentary to each other. The coffee was super strong. The waitress was just ok. I was really disappointed this time.

Located inside Disney Springs, Summer House on the Lake is an upscale restaurant. Went there for lunch for my wife's birthday. We made a reservation weeks prior and annotated it was her birthday. Hoping we could get a view of the water, we didn't. We were seated right at the front by the bar. There server, Caleb, was attentive and nice. We started with the truffle fries, which had great flavor, however the fries are thin straws. My wife had the Rigatoni alla vodka and added chicken ($7 upcharge, yikes). I ordered the carne asada tacos. The food came out quickly which was good. The flavor was okay. Nothing to rave about. The corn tortillas for my tacos were very thin and got soggy quickly. Obviously because you are inside Disney Springs, everything is way overpriced. I mean what do you expect paying $30 for 3 steak tacos. I was our understanding that for birthdays they give you a cookie and that wasn't offered to my wife. We won't be returning because it was overpriced and the food isn't up to par for what you're paying. Maybe you'll have better luck than us.

Excellent!! Beautiful view. Great staff had a later reservation arrived 40 min to early, Natalia at the front was friendly and accommodating. Seated us shortly. Outside as we reserved. Food was perfect for the atmosphere. David our server, made lunch that much better. He ensured everything was perfect. Highly recommend and hopefully you get the staff we did. Just a little note, some food landed on the floor, within seconds an older gentleman swooped in and everything was good again. I love that attention to detail.

We had lunch here today. What a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.
