Great place. Always fresh and tasty
Dining at Sugarfish in Hollywood was amazing! The combination of the ambiance, the super fresh sushi, and the beautifully plated dishes made it a great dining experience. Sugarfish is a must-visit. I
Watch out. They’ll switch the menu on you when you order TrustMe menu. We were supposed to get a Toro hand roll and they gave us Salmon. When asked what’s up, they said “we changed the menu.” They didn’t. When we asked for the Toro hand roll, they gave it to us but looked at us funny. Did you mean the irony? - Update. Our regular waitress apologized and said there was a mistake in the kitchen and a new waitress.
Fresh fish, warm and perfectly cooked rice, and best service! Hot green tea rounded out the Trust Me Nozawa menu! Dietary restrictions: No gluten free soy sauce/tamari but accommodation for gf was great
If you want awesome sushi this is the place to go. If you want takeout, they prepare and put your sushi in the most beautiful box with pictures that explain it all.
If you’re planning on dining here in the evening, park across the street at Gowers Gulch for free. And if you come on week night, there’s hardly any wait to be seated. We always get the “Don’t think. Just eat.” and we’re always happy. Know that for beer, they serve Sapporo. If you’re allergic to shellfish, know that there’s lobster in the “Don’t think. Just eat.” that they’ll gladly switch out for you. Service is usually attentive.
This was actually the worst Sugarfish location I've been to. I have eaten many times at the Calabasas and Studio City locations, which have been amazing in service and food quality. Yet, this one was very poor in food quality. For instance, the Salmon Kombu, Hirame, and the Kanpachi nigiris were all very fishy and had a rough texture. It is not normally like that, compared to the other locations which had amazing buttery, melt-in-your-mouth bites. But, this location was a big letdown. To the point that I canceled the rest of my orders that were supposed to come because of how turned off I felt from continuing to hope that the rest didn't have a fishy taste to them as well. Anyhow, I don’t mind spending $200 at Sugarfish, but to spend that amount for a low quality of fish that left me dissatisfied, it hurts a bit and it's disappointing.
