I work right up the street from Sugar and Scribe and I stop in every single day for a coffee. I haven't ordered any food yet, but I have treated my staff to coffees and now have a reward basket with several items from their super cute retail area. The atmosphere is very warm, inviting, creatively decorated and the staff there are all wonderful. Truly wonderful! They always greet me by name, they know my dog Mikey and give him treats (he practically runs down the street everyday to get there) and they are always in exceptionally good moods. It's a truly unique and wonderful experience.

Overall: A fun and unique breakfast option. The good: We were in a semi-rush and the waiter was able to accommodate us in that regard. Great atmosphere and attention to detail, between the table setting and decorations. Large menu with lots to choose from, and both the naughty skillet and bread pudding french toast were delicious. The not-so-good: A little too expensive and the seating was a little tight. Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8/10

The food here was quite good, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. However, I'm not sure if we were the only Asians in the restaurant, as it seemed that the staff didn’t know how to treat every customer equally. When we arrived to join the waitlist, the hostess ignored us and attended to other Caucasian customers who arrived after us. When we finally got a table and came back to check in, she made us wait again to ensure another Caucasian lady could sign in ahead of us. It appears that the restaurant does not prioritize on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather by skin color. There were other minor issues too. Despite there being other available tables, we were seated in a far corner, our tableware was never checked, we were given only one cup for two people. Order mixed up. Wake up and hire some waiter with the same standards you use for your chefs.

On my way back to LA my friend and I decided to stop at Sugar and Scribe for brunch. There's usually a wait here, but it's worth it. When you get on the waiting list they will text you when it's almost your turn so you can browse the shops around the neighborhood or check out the little bakery area of the restaurant. The restaurant/bakery has such a cute vibe, and the baked goods are like little works of art! Each pastry was so beautifully decorated and unique, that it felt like browsing a museum exhibit – I wanted to buy everything in there. I ended up ordering the Healthy Skillet & strawberry lemonade which was so good. The strawberry lemonade also had free refills. I wanted to buy all the things in their bakery/ gift shop area. There was a whole section of strawberry-themed gifts and snacks which I ended buying a few things from. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area.

Treat yourself to glittery, unicorn-style pancakes that are more than just gimmicky. They taste amazing, almost cake-like with crisp edges and a gusher of lemon essence. Plus inventive hot drinks and plenty of options for savory-minded diners. And also super kid-friendly. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid options including a la carte eggs and pancakes to suit kids of any sized appetite.

My family and I went for brunch this morning and had a wonderful experience! For 4 of us we were told an hour wait but it ended up being only about 30 minutes! Our server, Oscar, was so sweet and attentive. Our food came so quick and was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back!
