I came here for the first time this afternoon and I was happily surprised. I had the quinoa salad and it was extremely good. 100% recommended

Hot chicken waffles were FIRE! Coffee was excellent as well. Wife got the burger and loved it. Also had an IPA Cider that was killer. Hot chicken, waffles, burger, coffee, craft beer and cider. I'm sold. Edit 5/2019: Subculture continues to be a favorite for my wife and I. We try to make it a weekly visit. The food is always great. Thanks, guys! Edit 4/2022:. My wife and I still come here regularly and it's always fantastic. Edit 3/2024: My wife and I continue to love Subculture. When I walked in and asked about the Cubano sandwich the man behind the counter confidently told me his sandwich is better than the Miami original. I took his word for it and ordered. He was absolutely right. It’s a better sandwich. I’ve had a ton of Cuban sandwiches all over Miami. Here are the differences. It’s not Cuban bread but a home made sandwich roll made for the shop. It’s delicious. Cuban bread is flaky and creates a shell that holds all of the sandwich together. This bun was soft and held up to the weight of the sandwich well. A Cuban sandwich has sweet lunch meat ham along with the roast pork. This does not. He used a bread and butter pickle to accentuate a sweet note against the flavorful pork roast. Same effect on the tastebuds. This was easily the best pork roast I’ve had on a sandwich. The mustard finishes it off. Every bite was a little bit better than the one before it. I can definitely see why this is such a popular spot. It’s a small no frills dining area. I can’t wait to come back and try something else next!

Got the hot chicken sandwich. Heat level was good. Came on strong but didn't build on you. Good flavor, service was quick

I go here at least once a week, sometimes twice. The food is simply amazing, from the tacos to the ramen to the sandwiches. Friendly staff and owner and great espresso drinks to boot. There's something for everyone on the menu, and you can trust it's all going to be delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough; it's a true gem.

Very impressed. Good food that is consciously thought out, original, refined and unique. Suits today's foodie with a chill atmosphere, subdued lighting and pendants hanging. They take pride in their place, food, and even customer feedback is well received and actually appreciated. Thank you! The french fries here are some of the best in Nashville. Period. Feeds: Carnivore,VG,GF,V...And the craft beer crowd. On tap micros. It's a good value for portion size and the quality of food you get. The menu is great. I've never brought anyone to this place that didn't feel the same way after. They do have limited seating, but it's never been a problem and turns over fast, plus outside seating almost doubles it. Honestly I've only had issues a couple times, never if you avoid peak times. To-go is always an option. Thank you subculture guys and gals. Love your butternut squash tacos. On my regular rotation. Established 2016 and still surviving. Nice to see places like this in the area to lift it up and thriving. Not many exist and we all know this corner needs it. Go visit if you haven't, I think you'll be impressed.
