Really really REALLY good croissants, friendly people, great latte - I go here every time I’m in town.
1 star since they were out of what we ordered and we didn't find out for 45 min. Couldn't you have told us when we ordered breakfast that you were out of everything gluten free? What a pain in the butt! We had to walk to the riverfront to find food. One would think that a high end hotel charging $400/night could at least have a decent breakfast place that wasn't out of everything. Staff was clueless and the older lady came off as rude. Asked us 3x what we ordered.
Absolutely fantastic bakery with great coffee. The atmosphere is great and plenty of space to sit back and relax.
While a decent looking place at first glance you only have to take a quick look at menu to see that the coffee and food prices are stratospherically off the charts. I am a longtime NYC resident and am accustomed to paying higher than average prices but when I ordered 2 large lattes and the charge came to $24 I was blown away. Regardless of the size of the drink you only get 2 oz of coffee, and an extra shot is $3 (which is needed based on the coffee to milk ratio), add to that some sweetener (flavored syrup for $2) and you already overpriced 16 oz latte which costs $7 jumps to $12. Toss in two croissants at $6 apiece and you're close to $40 for two coffees and a pastry. Take an Uber to Starbucks or one of the local coffee shops and you'll still come out ahead.
I’m so glad this place is open. Their breakfast sandwiches and Turkey Cesar sandwich are to die for. You also have to try the carrot cake muffin.
No doubt they have to charge excessive prices due to the high rent district they are located in. Sadly there are few true bakery options in Savannah. Baguettes should not run $6+...miss the 1.15 euro baguettes of France.
$6 for a large coffee??? I must have been given a roofee
Super cool little coffee shop. Grab a coffee and walk along the Savannah River. I got a cortado & a muffin. Both were great. The decor was super cool. Would definitely recommend grabbing a coffee & pastry.
Stayed at The Thompson to use my AMEX platinum card benefits, which included Free Breakfast, and decided to give Stevedore a try. We mobile ordered and waited until the pick up time to go grab everything. The employee making the beverages was not friendly and rudely told me my food wasn’t ready yet. We waited 15 minutes for the cashier to prep our food after taking care of customers who ordered in line. Let me say this, the food/beverages were delicious. I really enjoyed the mini pumpkin loaf and my vanilla latte with oat milk was very good. My husband ordered the everything focaccia loaf and after being reheated, it was a little burnt. The turn off to this place for us was the staff. The employee who was rude to us making beverages was pretty rude and annoyed to every customer and the cashier seemed nice but didn’t go out of her way to be nice. We never complained about waiting 15 minutes past the order time but were never offered any apology or even acknowledged. I would recommend going for the food if you do not mind bad customer service.
