Steak 48

Visited Chicago for my birthday and made this my birthday dinner. The service was great and from someone who absolutely loves steak this is now my favorite steakhouse.

I never usually write a review but the experience I had at Steak 48 was horrible! My kids booked a reservation for me to celebrate my 66th birthday. When we arrived a tall black man asked my daughter to step outside. He informed her that our party smelled like weed smoke. He suggested we step outside in the cold to air out. I don’t participate in any recreational drugs besides a drink every now and then. Secondly, we were seated all the way in the back where the kitchen is. To be far, our server was amazing. My daughter’s boyfriend came to join us but he was turned away at the door because of his cargo pants. Not to mention we saw people in the restaurant with hoodies and jeans that was very dressed down. This place is racist and profiled us the minute we walk through the door. We decided to say because it was a Saturday night and we knew it would be hard to get a reservation last minute. On the positive note, I must say our server went over and beyond to make my experience enjoyable. My daughter spoke with David Tobev about our experience. He was dismissive and uninterested about what she had to say. I then stepped in and asked if he would take something off of our bill because of our insurance experience. He agreed to take some sides off the bill. I would give this restaurant zero stars because the way they treat black people is disgusting. So if u would like a pleasant dining experience, go somewhere else. Where they would appreciate your dollar. The food is good but not worth everything that came along with it. They have a tall black guy at the door to do their dirty work to tell fellow African Americans about attire. What a joke this place is!!!! I’ll rather eat McDonalds before ever stepping a foot back in those door

Came here for my birthday and it was amazing! First time I came here was the night of my wedding during the pandemic when everything was still kind of shut down and both times we had a private area, we weren't sat on top of other guests and the food was amazing, service was amazing. I have been to other really great restaurants in the area where I ended up spending more and was just satisfied with the experience. With Steak 48 I was beyond satisfied. Not just for the food but the overall experience. It's a very welcoming and warm environment. They made sure my birthday dinner was awesome, manager came to wish me a happy birthday along with other servers and I received a bday card from them. They truly made me feel welcome and special on my day. Also the fried lobster is soooo good! A bit pricey but it's worth it I promise!

I celebrated my husband birthday with Steak 48 and Yasmin provided us with a wonderful experience. We took the elevator to the second floor and as I requested we had a huge secluded booth for ourselves with an unexpected handwritten birthday card from the General Manager. The food and ambiance was amazing. The next day I received a follow up phone call from Liam. Thank you so much we can’t wait to visit again

I had an amazing time. Came here for a birthday and our server Carling was amazing!!! She was so sweet and attentive. This was our first time here but won’t be our last. Thank you Carling!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hands down, one of the best places I have been to in Chicago, for dime in. The waiter Yasmine was on top of her game, and made the experience all the more! I highly recommend this place, a splendid experience for sure, on all Levels

They really know how to treat you well at Steak 48! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and they weren't kidding when they said I would hear the sizzle of the steak before I saw it.
