The bartender Ben is super cool and he makes a killer drink.
Stopped for lunch after a brisk 90 minute jaunt through the aquarium. Very kid friendly. Breakfast and lunch served on the kids menu! They were kind enough to stow our stroller out of the way as well. Jewel of the crown was amazing. Spicy chicken sandwich brings some heat. Raw Oysters were prepared very well. No horseradish, though. Kid-friendliness: They were kind enough to stow our stroller out of the way!
Great restaurant for group dinners, conveniently located in the seaport area. There is a bar, as well as many tables. Was crowded on a Thursday night, but the place was not so loud that you had to shout, which I liked. Our server recommended the baked cod, burger, and pork chop. I tried the baked cod, which was delicious. The cod was cooked perfectly: very soft and seasoned well. The bean purée was smooth and mild but added a depth of flavor. The state street platter was a good appetizer for sharing amongst 3-4 people. I think the seafood could have been a tad fresher, but it was good overall. I also tried the pot de crème. I was surprised (in a good way) by how large the dessert was for the price ($10). The biscotti was very good, and the mousse was rich. I liked that it was a cold dessert, but it was quite heavy for one person. I recommend sharing it. Everyone at the table finished their dish, so I don’t think you can go wrong with anything. Our server was also friendly, and we did not feel rushed. My only complaint is that it was a bit too dark in the restaurant.
Monday to Friday only.. $1 oysters during certain hours.
Steak Frites was outstanding and the pizza was a 8.4!
I loved the food! It was fantastic! The only issue was the service felt a little forced and I wasn't a fan. But I would love to come back!
Good food and service...but stop with the kitchen fees. You know it comes out of the total tip right? I shouldn't have to do the job of management. Pay your employees fairly and split the tips across the staff. Big turnoff!
Decided to come here impulsively because it was near our hotel and we wanted espresso martinis. Brought our baby with us. The hostess thoughtfully asked if we wanted to keep him in his stroller, and then she showed us to a table where we could have the stroller next to us and not be in anyone's way. That meant a lot to me because I am always stressing about bringing the stroller! Our server Antonio was very warm. Food and drinks came out super fast. Great service. The food was also awesome! I got the salmon poke and it was exactly what I hoped it would be, lightly dressed fish over sticky rice with a small smattering of greens. Also ordered the brussel sprouts, the miso yogurt is SOOOO GOOD! I think the maple sauce on the sprouts was a bit sweet for me, but paired with the savory/tangy yogurt, yeah, it was a winner. My husband got the clam chowder and he really enjoyed it. The espresso martinis were made with cold brew, not espresso, which might stress out the purists, but I found it balanced, not too sweet. I was also stoked to see a caparinha on the menu, it was also great. Really enjoyed the vibe, it was noisy enough that I didn't feel worried if my baby fussed, but it wasn't so loud you couldn't have a conversation. Patrons were a mix of other families with kiddos, people out with friends, on dates. My husband liked the height of the booth. Baby also enjoyed himself. Overall it exceeded my expectations. Thanks for a great experience!
