If they're lucky, the woman in the car ahead of me, whom the drive-thru girl bonded with by collaboratively mocking me, will leave them a 5 -star rating to average this into a 3-star. Woman ahead starts chit-chatting as she hands over her credit card, listens, turns back to look at me sitting there looking ahead at her and laughs "I see him". Then I get my coffee, look at it and wahlah, it all makes sense. So here's what that was...when I ordered a grande Pike at the mic, the only request I made was "and could you add just a very tiny bit of cream, no sugar". Pretty benign I would think...but apparently someone got their feelings hurt I guess. And so here's what probably went down... I didn't say "just a little cream" but emphasized how little, and that was interpreted as ...I'm going off horrible experiences and don't trust your ability to gauge just a little cream because your people have wrecked my past coffees with too much cream so now I'm super paranoid. And yeah, I guess that wouldn't be a misconception. But what's out of bounds and unprofessional is when they take it personally and mock me with another customer. And when I took off the lid to look, aahhh they wrecked it again, but now most likely on purpose. Way too much cream and I'm way too busy to go grab my phone and take a picture to prove it. So I had good reason to overemphasize the request and they proved it well-founded once again. I'm done with that location. There are plenty of other stores with servers who've graduated high school both physically AND mentally.
