Great food, drinks, and location! Service was horrible. We couldn't get water after asking twice and struggled to get the bill. We got the chorizo pizza and white bean app and was great. Outside patio super cute and great vibes but service made this a challenging experience.
We ate dinner on Valentine's eve before we went to a show nearby. Food was delicious. Especially outstanding were the butternut squash dumplings (we ordered it a second time, they were so good - the pepitas and brown butter sauce was amazing), crispy fried brussels sprouts (I order these in a lot of restaurants and these are now at the top of my list), Thai spiced pork sausages, and the puree of carrot soup (the addition of the curry creme fraiche and pomegranate seeds made this soup special). The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our drinks.
Nice atmosphere but waiter seemed inexperienced or uninterested and two of our three entrees were either undercooked (we sent the pork back for more time in the oven) or bland. On the plus side, the salad entree was delicious. Not our first visit but probably our last; San Francisco has a lot of restaurants from which to choose.
Disappointing burger, wine served too cold and without offering a taste. Nice patio.
Glad to get a table around 6pm on Friday. I ordered a burger, but a bit disappointed. It was dry, wasn’t juicy and overcooked. Steak wasn’t really good as expected. Prices are reasonable. Service was good, it was a main reason I gave 4 stars. Overall experience was ok. Will come back again if I go to Castro neighborhood.
Loved sitting out on the back porch. Cocktails and burgers for lunch.
The hominy fritters were the most memorable part of the meal - the lemon aioli was super tangy and delish. My husband had the chorizo pizza with sunnyside up eggs. For me, the pizza was too floppy, but I'm just not a fan of needing to fold my slice. I went for the fresh spaghetti with Starbelly bacon: the noodles were extra thick and fun to eat, but I do prefer my bacon crispier than their half-bacon, half-pork belly approach. Good sauce, good cheese. We finished it off with lillet-soaked cherries in an arborio rice pudding. Did the cherries make any sense with the pudding? No! But I'm always going to be happy shoveling rice pudding in my mouth. Would go again!
