Staks! East Memphis

Food was delicious! The atmosphere was nice. I appreciate our server but was disappointed that we couldn’t just tip her. They have to share their tips. But she did the work. Other than that it was nice.

Everything was as ordered & piping hot! Delish!

I've heard good reviews about this place. Went here for breakfast during weekend. There was no wait time and the service was quick. I got freshly made cinnamon roll pancakes. It was scrumptious, heavy, and luscious. If you have a sweet tooth, this dish is definitely for you. Card machine was not working and I had to pay cash. Otherwise, this place had a serene ambience and was worth the visit.

My mother and I went to Staks for lunch today. Because we were paying with a card instead of cash, we were directed to order via the website like we were getting take out, but to put our table number instead of a name on the order. I placed the order (and paid, including tip) at 12:01pm with a 12:36pm "pick up" time. I ordered a pancake I hadn't previously tried, plus a drink and croissant and my mom ordered biscuits and gravy, plus a small order of pancakes with pecans and a drink. Our drinks arrived, but the food didn't. No one seemed to be assigned to our table to check on us or refill drinks. At around 12:50pm, we flagged down a worker to check on our food and were told it was nearly ready. We were later brought my pancakes but an incorrect plate for my mom. They took that away, and brought her pancakes. We confirmed that the biscuits and gravy and croissant were coming soon. My pancakes weren't very good, but edible. My mom's were good, but she really wanted her biscuits and gravy. She could see a plate of biscuits and gravy sitting in the window cooling and wondered if it was hers. Eventually, we flagged down another worker, who brought the now congealed plate of biscuits and gravy that had been sitting on the pass to her. I reminded that I was still waiting on my croissant. My mom tried the dish and it was gross. In addition to being room temperature, it was too salty to eat and tasted like someone had dumped in an entire cannister of Italian seasoning. It was nothing like traditional sausage gravy and there was no sausage present. We asked yet another worker to send over the manager, so we could ask that it be taken off the bill. She refused. She said the biscuits and gravy was made the way Staks makes it and the manager would tell us the same. The server was getting loud and making us uncomfortable, so we just left. I try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but I'll never be back to Staks again after this treatment.

I wasn’t gonna go due to reviews but I went in around 8-9am. It wasn’t busy at all. They were very nice and helpful. My breakfast margarita was soooo good. They recommended the breakfast eggrolls and cinnamon roll pancakes. Everything was good. I will be back.

Just going to say. They made me look great . 15 year anniversary breakfast with the sweet heart ❤️. Most hidden gem for breakfast. >> Bon Appétit.

We keep trying to like this place but unfortunately we've had a bad experience every time we've been. They're just so slow. The food isn't good enough to make up for it. Half the tables are by the door so if it's cold outside you're constantly blasted with cold air when people walk in. The setup is odd and just doesn't work efficiently. We're bummed cause we've got kids that love pancakes.
