The strawberry shortcake beer they do here is really good and unique, 99% of the other beers I've had here have been mid at best (sometimes you may get a decent stout). The food here is a bit above average for a brewery (but not great) although they took away my favorite pizza years ago. My main issue is how expensive it is and the fact they don't take reservations except on Sunday. I've been about 6-8 times over the years and always leave feeling I've overpaid and gotten better beers from other local craft breweries. I'm glad the south has a brewery that seems to be doing well, but wish they had better beer; most of it just isn't memorable imho. The South needs more breweries so I hope they improve or provide some more exciting beers options.
Met with a friend for drinks and apps on a Friday night. Place was packed as usual but we got a few seats at the bar. I had a few glasses of the "Right between the eyes" stout aged in whiskey and rye barrels. So good!
Went for a girl’s night out, had a few flights and sandwiches. Food was really good and beer was fantastic. My fav is Those Winter Sundays. Reminds me of Andes Candies, very smooth. Friendly bar tenders. All around good experience.. will go again soon!
I like beer. I like pizza. I like Spoonwood.
Delicious hot honey chicken sandwich. Great beer and space. We sat at the bar.
Good food, good beer and good service. What more can you ask for?
Not great and too expensive. The beer was mediocre but cost $7.50 for a pour. That’s crazy for a 4% German style beer. We had a large group and the general consensus was that the food was all mediocre and small portions except the pizza. The gyro, the meatloaf, lamb gnocchi….all small portions, meat was dry, and it was expensive. We were seated out in the zip up tent. When paying $20 for an entree and $7 for a beer, there is an expectation that this fell far short of.
