We tried the tuna poke, lamb shank, and branzino. Tuna was interesting, but it had some unpleasant bitter notes and the oatmeal just doesn't work with it. Also ended up sick later that night, and I suspect this was the culprit. Lamb shank was nice, but a little boring. It's served with pickles, and those were bitter, which kind of ruined it. Branzino was the best of the three, but it comes with a spätzle that was just awful. It had no flavor and it was really greasy because the cream sauce had broken. Really bad. The service was fine, and the ambience was as expected. The food sounds good on paper but doesn't work. Considering the prices, I really recommend you go somewhere else.

I have been dining at Splashes on and off for almost 25 years. They were and still are one of my favorite spots for dining by the water where I can truly enjoy a nice meal with my loved ones and special guests while listening to the splashes of the waves and watching the California sun setting above the ocean. If you are seated at the lobby level, make sure to walk to the lower level where you can enjoy the close-up views of the water and waves splashing against the big rocks below. Make sure charge up your phone battery for the great shots and videos you will end up taking! I promise you won’t be disappointed! Parking: You definitely want to do valet parking as the limited FREE street parking can have a time limit which can potentially subject you to a parking violation. Wheelchair accessibility: Tables and chairs are placed very close together. Make sure to request any wheelchair seating from the manager ahead of time to avoid any frustration or delay at the time of your arrival.

Food is okay but the service and the view is amazing! We booked a family lunch for 6 and got arranged to the best seat unexpectedly. Not wheelchair friendly but two guys can easily handle it

My son’s birthday and our family sit on the corner. There is some concrete powder falling down from the ceiling. The waiter is very nice. The ceiling is opening on the corner which is being rebuilt. Because it is birthday and I don’t share with the family. I don’t want them unhappy about falling powder. But I complained writing on the bills and told the old man who collected the bill. I still gave tip but a unhappy experience. This table should not be used and there is other table available. Why let us sitting a terrible table?

Made reservations for Christmas dinner while visiting Laguna. I have not been to Surf and Sand in 30 years. It did not disappoint at all. Impeccable service, decent wine list, amazing cuisine (yellowtail appetizer, scallops & lamb chops from the set Christmas menu were some of our favorites ) and beautiful views. We will definitely be back for future experiences.

This is our MUST visit restaurant every time we come back to Orange County! The service is always top notch! Our waitress Alma and her helper Rafael were very attentive and always there when we needed them. The food is always outstanding! Lobster bisque, Tuna sandwich and Mahi Mahi tacos are our favorite. They usually open their floor to ceiling windows so it feels like you are dining on the beach. Highly recommend!

Our servers Patrick and Erik made our engagement night so wonderful! They gave us champagne and even guessed our favorite dessert & let me tell you that crème brûlée is to die for. I also highly recommend the lobster bisque and the scallions, soooooo good!

Beautiful views and great service. All the food and drinks were delicious but the king salmon was my favorite!
