Spicy Roy’s Caribbean Grill: A Hidden Gem Near San Jose Downtown I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spicy Roy’s Caribbean Grill, and it was an absolute delight! ️ Food Highlights: I ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken combo, and let me tell you, the flavors transported me straight to the heart of Jamaica. The oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender, and the jerk chicken had that perfect balance of spice and smokiness. To wash it all down, I sipped on the island punch, a refreshing concoction that made me feel like I was lounging on a tropical beach. A Missed Photo Opportunity: I wish I had taken a photo, but my hunger got the best of me—I couldn’t wait to dig in! Five Stars: The food quality, presentation, and taste all deserve a solid five stars. The portions were generous, and every bite was a burst of Caribbean goodness. Hidden Gem: Spicy Roy’s is tucked away just outside of San Jose’s bustling downtown. It’s like discovering a secret treasure—a place where authentic flavors meet warm hospitality. You’ll find it hidden inside Mesquite and Oak, and trust me, it’s worth seeking out. Kudos to Chef Fitzroy: Chef Fitzroy, the mastermind behind this culinary haven, has created a menu that caters to various dietary preferences—even vegans can find something delightful here. Spice Up Your Life: Whether you’re a spice enthusiast or a newbie to Caribbean cuisine, Spicy Roy’s is a must-visit. The blend of spices, the vibrant colors, and the friendly atmosphere will leave you craving more. Next time you’re in San Jose, make a beeline for Spicy Roy’s. Your taste buds will thank you! ️
Spicy Roy's Jamaican food hits the spot every time. Their classic jerk chicken is the best!
Absolutely sensational food! The jerk chicken and yellow tofu curry were amazing and packed with flavor. The plantains were perfectly cooked and the house salad with tropical dressing was fresh and delightful. The service was top-notch; Chef Roy and Kevin are a fantastic team, very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They made our Mardi Gras-themed Happy Hour event a huge success. We will definitely be reaching out to Spicy Roy's Grill for our future events. Highly recommended!
Food only review because they cater to my company. The jerk chicken is dry and absolutely disgusting. Fried plantains taste like oil and nothing else—and are unripe. Subpar rice. Everything else tastes like it’s a day old. I wouldn’t pay for this.
Doordashed the food and it was alright in taste.
Had the Jerk Tofu and jerk chicken burrito, which were amazing. Will definitely be coming back
Purchase the surprise bag from too good to go. What I got was 6 meatballs for $6, $1 per meatball. Are you kidding?? Do not buy things from this store. Very dishonest and bad food. Play trick and try to fool customers.
Great food! Great Jerk Chicken.
