Spicy Moon - West Village

My party of 2 was sat in the back, with all the dishwashing noise, I was reminded TWICE that there was another reservation after ours so we had to finish in an hour, and the food (Dan Dan Noodles, Lo Mein + Beyond Beef) was meh. I can make better for far less than $100.

Food is great specially the Spicy Tofu bun and Kung Pao Style Tofu. Service is fantastic, very attentive, kind and got served pretty fast after ordering. Tables and chairs are quite small not comfortable for me. Would reccommed for the food and the service. Prices are decent too for the taste and quantity.

We’ve come so many times to spicy moon. I started coming to the first location pre-Covid and remember speaking to one of the founders. The food is phenomenal every time. However, at this particular location, the hosts always tell us that we can only have the table for 45 minutes for a party of three even though we have a standing reservation for weeks. I find this completely outrageous and it really affects our experience of spicy moon and dining. we feel really rushed and feel like we have to inhale our food. One of my friends who loves coming to this place and lives out of town has had surgery on her tongue because of cancer and cannot eat quickly. We shouldn’t have to explain this since we were not sitting at the table for 3 to 4 hours and we had a reservation. It takes us a little longer to eat compared to the average table. She even shared with the server that she had tongue surgery and cannot eat as quickly, and they still rushed us out and cleared our table. You shouldn’t have to put personal health information into our reservations because their turnaround times are absolutely ridiculous. I don’t think we will be coming back as a matter of principle.

This was my first time experiencing after many passings and knowing about Spicy Moon. My friend and I met at the train ready for an adventure and all NYC shenanigans! When we arrived, our wait for seating took a few minutes. We got seats on the right near the entrance, thanks Teddy(very hospitable and gracious), Angel(loved ya ) was our server and patient, informative and kind. It was family style…We ordered Dan Dan noodles with beyond beef, Brussels sprouts, the wontons in chili oil, small brown rice and the Thai iced tea with white rum. After that, it was on and popping! Our food came out with lightening speed, the server(blonde free formed locs) asked if we would like our Dan Dan noodles with beyond beef mixed. Absolutely! It was such a great experience, staff, atmosphere, energy was intentional. McKenna was very nice too, she checked in on us and got us our check. I like how they all worked as a team, I felt at home. Thank you, I’ll Be back soon, thinking I try all locations. Please go!!! Ps…we inhaled the goodness so quick and present in the moment pics never realized. It’s good to be present in the moment, makes a great memory.

Great service, ok food, a bit on the salty side. Loud music.
