SP2 Communal Bar + Restaurant

Consider this place more of a bar than a restaurant. Place was simple but cute. Had an open floor concept to it. Food: it was okay. Not the best, but it wasn’t the worst. Cocktails were well made. They delivered what and how they needed to deliver! Service: Super friendly staff! However, cleaning the kitchen (spraying, wiping, brooming, mopping, etc) while still cooking food orders cannot be sanitary!!!! Ambience: DJ was on point! Definitely would go back on a late spring or summer day/night just for cocktails. Parking: available either in nearby structures or meter street parking.

A fantastic place to get a bite before the Sharks game. It's a tradition we've held onto for years and even now when driving back into California we stop here to eat! The ribs are absolute perfection and at this point I don't need to try anything else because nothing else compares. We dined in a few days ago and brought our out of state friends with us and the burger was "the best burger they have ever had" Great servers, hosts, and bartenders too!

Don't bother to go here! Our brunch experience was horrible. Where do I start! We were given dinner menu first despite confirming about the menu. Service is super slow, our orders weren't taken for the longest time. The waitress forgot to get our mains. Food lacked seasoning and tasted bland. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Parking: Difficult to find parking around the place given lot of restaurants around in downtown

Food and atmosphere was good. Really enjoyed the pizza and brussel sprouts. Menu was limited due to Special event. Espresso Martini was on point. Long line for bathrooms and long wait for food. I’m sure the kitchen was backed up due to busy night. I heard the Happy Hour is worth the value.

It’s a restaurant bar and club all in one place. Food has excellent quality and perfectly cooked. Presentation is basic and efficient. Flavor is spot on. Not over seasoned. Large portions. The cocktails are fantastic, we had 5 different cocktail and all had complex flavor structure, balanced. Very reasonable prices. Amazing selection of bottle service.

I am a disabled veteran and (unnamed) university faculty. I was passingby around 10:00-11:00pm on a Friday night, when my wife had to use the restroom; so we decided to stop in. It looked pretty crowded and we had heard the name before. I was stopped at the door and blatantly disrespected because I have tattoos. I was then told tattoos were against their dress code. Some sort of supervisor was called and interviewed me about the nature of my tattoos and then permitted me to enter only after a pretty thorough search/pat down by another employee. Even then, I was followed and stared down by security as I escorted my wife to the restroom and then left. I've spent the last 15 years earning a Ph.D and a purple heart. I never, ever want anything special, but this was outlandishly discriminative and disrespectful.

Overall, we had a great experience here watching the Super Bowl, especially in terms of the service. The hostess helped us select a table so we were happy for the game. Our server was very nice, prompt and attentive all night even in the midst of a busy evening. We did have some confusion with the bill and payment which we discovered was completely our fault. But this is when the manager and team showed their best. While we were upset, they stayed calm, treated us with respect, and didn’t do anything to escalate the situation. That’s a sign of well run business and team as well as a good group of people on staff. I found it very admirable! Thanks SP2, Jen, Lauren, and Dom!
