South Branch Tavern & Grille (The Loop - Chicago)

The food and drinks were great, but the wait staff made the experience even better. We were waited on by Amberly and she was the kindest person!

I had previously given this location 5 stars due to the great service I received by the bartender and have returned many times since then. My most recent experience has led me to lowering my review. The last couple of times we have been there we have had the same server. Amberly. Our service was subpar the first time but we let it slide because people have bad days. Our most recent experience was the same. She would forget things and we had to ask for refills twice. One of our orders came out wrong and she told us it was the kitchens fault. She seemed rushed and it was hard to get her attention. What we found really tasteless was towards the end of our meal, she said she was giving us a complementary drink and offered a free dessert so we can leave her a 5 star review on google. She told her her job and schedule depended on it. The gall of her to try and bribe us after her poor service and that this location would promote that. We heard her do the same to the table next to us so this didn't seem like a one time thing. I will be returning because but I will be sure to avoid her service if possible.
