South Bend Chocolate Cafe

This place used to be a great place to go. The last several times we tried to get ice cream we can seem to get a staff member to help us. Last night the staff member helped the people in front of us and then walked away. They did not greet us or tell us someone else would have to help us. Not returning, we give up on this place!

Nice chocolate, nice fire, real nice atmosphere.

This is the laziest location. The drinks aren't made fresh. They make huge quantities, dump it into a plastic dispenser and as it empties, allllll that condensation runs into the chocolate and makes it taste like chocolate chalk-water. It is so disgusting. They just upped their prices. I preferred going there because it's local and when it's fresh? Delicious. But it is only fresh 1-2 times out of 10. If you want consistency, go to Starbucks. The location in Michigan City (Lighthouse Outlet Mall), perfect every time no matter what you order. But for the main location to be that bad is disappointing. I went from being a Mon-Fri regular to once a month or less. The staff that work there are great! The manager seems like a lazy "Karen" and I feel bad for the employees that have to work with her. So two stars! When it's fresh and the manager isn't there making snide comments or sitting on her behind while the staff busts their humps to accommodate a breakfast rush? 10 stars. UPDATE: The coffee has been consistently good on the weekends. Weekdays, you're rolling the dice on a $7-$9 drink.
