Overpriced as hell, just not worth it.
The cafe has arguably the best breakfast in Somerville, Massachusetts. My wife and I come here regularly, and I have been here several times with my colleagues. We often order an omelette and a breakfast bowl. It is also great that they offer free refills of coffee.
Ordered the ricotta stuffed chala french toast with bananas and strawberries and I received cantaloupe or mango (can't tell because their really isn't a strong flavor) on top??? I mainly ordered this because I was in the mood for the strawberries and bananas. Maybe they ran out of the fruit?? Regardless, unripe cantaloupe or mango is probably one of the last fruit I want on top of french toast. The French toast itself is okay, it has a light flavor, and the ricotta adds a nice texture. It's a decent proportion as well. I think this would taste good with the strawberries and bananas. Overall, feeling disappointed. Edit: it's definitely mango
Just got a blueberry muffin here. It was chewy and old. So gross. They even grilled it with the paper still on. Nice effort.
We don't live close by, but have enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches delivered in the past. Sadly, it seems there have been some changes? We ordered today and the sandwiches were... Sad. The pork sausage reminded me of the from-frozen variety, kinda burnt up, and tasteless... A very small portion of the protein as well, given how large the sandwiches are. Hopefully this was a one-off, and isn't other's experience, but it'll be hard to take a chance on them again when there are so many great breakfast sandwiches in the area.
The spicy omelette was good but the corned beef hash was so dry that I couldn't even eat it. For $12 I'd rather buy the stuff in the can.
The food was alright, but what irritates me is the $4.50 iced tea without refills! Tea, one of the cheapest drinks out there and you charge way too much and don't give refills? Not worth the cost!
