Absolute perfection. My husband and I will remember this evening for the rest of our lives. The food was divine. Flavors, inspired. Service, attentive, delightful, and not intrusive. Each dish was presented with a brief but detailed description so that we could appreciate the food even more. You’ll want this to be your next dining experience. They take it all to the next level of sublime.

It's worth making a trip to SF just for this place. Fantastic experience, right till the end.

(Aug 2023 updated review) Now with new chef Harrison Cheney leading the kitchen, the restaurant has taken on a completely different personality. They're really doing something unique in SF, with a heavily New Nordic-inspired menu (down to the fermentation program). My meal was remarkably executed at a consistently high level. Great non-alcoholic beverage pairing to boot.

I've been lucky enough to dine at some of the country's best spots, including 3 star restaurants, and can honestly say that Sons & Daughters was my favorite experience of them all. When you’re eating in a Michelin-starred restaurant, the food is going to be good- that’s a given. But what sets Sons & Daughters apart is the personal touch and care that is apparent in every dish. Chef Harrison Cheney and the entire team foster an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, and the furthest thing from the uppity and pretentious vibes that some spots of this caliber operate in. When dining at Sons & Daughters, you feel like the team there truly appreciates having you and that you are amongst friends. Chef Cheney’s menu is a masterclass in new Nordic with signature touches like a noted emphasis on acidity levels and the creative use of lactic fermentation to stand out from the crowd. I caught myself remarking that each dish was one of, if not the, best bites I’ve ever had- only to be outdone by the next one. Pro tip: if you don’t drink or are looking for something different, the non-alcoholic drink pairing is an experience worthy of visiting the restaurant for on its own. Long story short, the current iteration of Sons & Daughters under Chef Cheney is immaculate and what fine dining is all about. One star is criminally too low for what this experience brings to the table.

Sons & Daughters is far and away the most incredible and memorable dining experience I've ever had - all 8 times :) !! My (now) fiancé and I visited Sons & Daughters for the first time early last year, unbeknownst to us, shortly after Chef Harrison assumed position as Executive Chef. We were blown away by the food, staff, service and quite literally everything about the dinner. The ambience is stunning. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable / kind / welcoming. The food is decadent and truly other worldly. The service is nothing short of perfection. The dishware is custom-made, unique to every dish and pure works of art. Chef Harrison and his staff consistently create new and exciting twists to the menu. The menu changes quarterly with modifications in between based on what's in season, available, etc. The chefs and staff take the time to eloquently describe each dish & give you insight into the inspiration, ingredients and all around profile before diving into the magic that is that first bite. David, the house sommelier, is a true expert and hand picks each wine for the tasting menu, perfectly complementing each dish and bringing out the variety of flavors in the food and wine. George, General Manager, Patrick & Jason ensure you're taken care of and attended to every step of the way. (Note I could go on about every single person who works at Sons & Daughters.. but fingers are getting tired!) I recommend this restaurant to everyone (prompted or not) - colleagues, friends, family, clients. I can't say enough good things and have been grateful for Chef Harrison and his staff for always warmly welcoming us back and making each time a unique and special / memorable experience.

Have you ever eaten a meal that made you want to cry? Have you experienced a meal that could only be described as “exquisite.” Not delicious or great, just exquisite. My wife and ate at Sons and Daughters on Valentines Day, and this was an experience that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. I took more videos than photos, so I wish that I could show you all every dish. But let me finish with this: the experience was so out of this world, I actually did not want to eat on the following day. I wanted to hold on to that memory for as long as I could. Thank you Sons & Daughters for implanting this memory in our minds forever. I wish that I had more stars to give.

Chef Harrison and the Sons & Daughters team are on a different level! This is hands down the best dining experience in San Francisco. We've been back 7 times in the last year since Chef Harrison took the reins and every time they've reinvented something new and brilliant on the menu. If you haven't been here in the last year you are frankly missing out! The unique flavors, attention to detail, and welcoming nature of the entire staff make this an unmatched experience. Better than any 2 or 3 Michelin star restaurant I've been to - this is truly underrated with only 1 Michelin star! I trust they will only grow their following under Chef Harrison, 2023's Michelin Best Young Chef in California winner.
