Soma Coffeehouse and Juice Bar

Anytime I am lucky enough to visit Bloomington, I go to this coffee shop. It has been here forever and is a staple in the community. Does that mean the coffee is “meh” and the food is “so-so”? Absolutely NOT. The baked goods that are available are delicious and nutritious (as best they can be considering they are indulgent foods). The coffee is creative and enjoyable. The atmosphere is perfect for anyone looking for an escape from solid colored corporate chain coffee shops that are absolutely soul sucking and terrible for your mental health. Go to Soma. Bring a book. Recharge.

Stopped in for a muffin and coffee while waiting for the eclipse festivities. Despite a line hanging out the door, orders were processed quickly and with good humor. And above all, the mocha with a splash of caramel was a perfect match to me beloved Golden Eagle from my favorite coffee shop back home.

To my everlasting shame I have eaten a lot of donuts. I mean a lot and these are some of the best. I would easily put these in the top five donuts I have had.

Whenever I’m back at IU for a visit, I always grab a coffee or three at Soma. Best coffee in Bloomington, some of the best coffee anywhere. Nice servers and atmosphere too.

I really don’t get it why this place kept popping in Bloomington, and the coffee bottle always empty and the price is not cheap.

Nice cafe very close to campus. Cozy place to sit and have a warm drink.
