Horrible hostess. The first person you see when you walk in and it’s the person with the worst attitude. But of course these days workers don’t care it’s not their restaurant. Don’t waste your time.
HORRIBLE HOSTESS , is not a problem solver and not a team player, also not welcoming. Had a very much horrible attitude and a stank face . I feel like she needs to get fired and doesn’t represent the restaurant well
Food decent for what it is....Mostly fried, family-diner quality food. Fries are amazing with their home made ranch but I wouldn't say the grisel-ly steak would not be a first or second choice. We ordered grilled shrimp and they brought fried. Ordered plain mashed potatoes with nothing and they still came with gravy. The atmosphere is older, TVs with no volume and then no captions, outdated, dark, kinda unclean, but if you don't mind that kind of stuff, then, it's ok (think older, dirty chairs, menus, and tables where when you touch any of them they are sticky). Beverages come in a decent size glass and their tea is fresh. Did I mention the ranch, yet? It's great . Not sure we would come here again since there are so many other choices for steak in Texas ♀️. They really need a deep clean of everything and a coat of lighter paint, the dark color scheme is not serving them well. Watch a few episodes of Kitchen Nightmares and take a few tips from that.
Amazing food, great prices, can get busy after church but it's a great restaurant for those news to TAMU!
Kid-friendliness: Amazing place with best comfort food in BCS, including kid menu. Place is friendly to families
Very busy. Service was great. Food awesome as well.
The steak is great but the servers and staff were very draining
Chicken fried steak was damn good!! Add a lil Tabasco to take it to the next level!! Service was great, sweet tea refills were fast and the girls are really friendly and engaging with customers. Texas atmosphere with very good and wise Bible verses on wall, honestly the main one on board actually changed my perspective in my current life path so that alone was damn near worth the trip.
I enjoyed my visit to Sodolak's. Very family oriented. Also, I love that it is Christian based. All of the servers, cashiers and the hostess wore shirts that had a Bible verse printed on the back. I spoke with a server who said that it started out with the same verse on all the shirts until they progressed to various verses. I believe Matthew 4:4 was the verse on the menu itself "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God". Love! We had lunch. The medium rare sirloin was excellently prepared. (Which some other restaurants seem to have a problem doing.) I would also recommend the 'Texas Toothpicks '. Those are fried jalapenos and onions. I had been to Sodolak's once before but, it was my husband's first visit and he said that we would return. God Bless! Kid-friendliness: A bit of a boisterous atmosphere. I saw quite a few families with babies and children of all ages.
