Local gem. Food portions are very big. My friend and I ordered tokkboki (came with rice cake, instant noodles, sausage, onions) and you can pick the spicy level. It's on the sweeter side. We also had the fried chicken (spicy and sour, heavy garlic taste, they used tapioca starch as breading instead of your regular breading - I think, as it's cheweier and translucent). We did have to ask for side dishes which was not offered or brought by our server, perhaps she forgot. Otherwise, staff were very nice and friendly. We also brought my baby along, they do have highchair available and was very accommodating.
I love their Gam Ja Tang, I’ve had Gam Ja Tang from so many restaurants in the lower mainland and nothing compares. The broth is bold and full of flavours and the pork is very tender. The staff is friendly and attentive.
I've eaten at So Hyang many times in the past and always enjoyed the food and staff. Tonight was a major disappointment. The food has completely changed for the worse. Everything we ordered was flavourless and poorly cooked. Presentation was terrible as well. I suggest you change the chef or close the restaurant. Your choice.
The taste completely changed, and I was very disappointed. It was the first time I had left the full table of food. The presentation and taste of the dishes are entirely off.
