Smashburger

Serviceable.

Our first visit and can't wait to come again.

Had a 2HR layover at SCJ and walked the terminal to see what food spots they have. Coming from Hawaii I wasn't feeling the whole Trader Vic spot. The ramen spot had bad ratings, so Smash Burger it was. One thing I didn't like was there wasn't a combo meal(at least at SCJ). I bought the specialty truffle mushroom burger, garlic tots and drink. The price didn't match the size of the food(again, it's probably the airport). The burger was good though, the tots were okay. In all, if you want to try smash burger, it's okay. The hype isn't that all great. The price wasn't worth it for me. It's the airport so it's all up to you. Safe travels.

Not my first time buying food here. Service is always usually slow but today's lunch is exceptionally slow. Unacceptable. Took 20 minutes to get my simple burger (no special requests) with fries. When I ordered there were nobody in line or waiting for their food. Shortly after a few more customers came. But a total of 4 customers after me got their food served first and I was skipped. I had asked the worker several times if I was skipped and each time I was told to wait some more. Time stamp on my receipt is 1:08pm and I did not get my food till 1:28pm. And what's worst is at least the last few times when service was slow, at least the food was freshly cooked and burger was hot and juicy. But this time, after the 20 minutes wait, the burger was actually cold like it had sat for a while. I do not know why it took so long since this whole time there were never more than 4 or 5 customers waiting.

So slow. And no buzzer so people can order and return later. Literally I think there is one person making one burger at a time. It’s an airport- speed is important!!

Burnt patties.... Quick service, but I think they were premade..... Disappointed
