Unfortunately, this was a very bad experience. Very friendly service with a smile serving up some of the saddest food posing as thai food that I have ever eaten and or been charged for. It’s my fault for not walking out of the restaurant after my first bite of vomitous measly portioned strangely overly sour massuman curry and my wife’s lemon grassless and unusually clear brothed sorry excuse for tom yum soup( really some bland hot water with some lemon, flavorless mushrooms and old carrot bits.) In Chicago we are so used to delicious food that these horrible instances leave us looking for but lacking the experience to illicit the correct reaction which would be just to get up and leave. I called the restaurant on the way home to share my impression of the experience with whoever answered the phone (the owner? probably the same man who served us this awful stuff) who didnt seem to care much and only said “sorry” and “yes the food is always like that.” When I looked at the reviews on Google maps it seemed like Siam restaurant was pretty highly rated. I guess you have to be very careful about trusting these reviews on here. Don’t make the same mistake that we did. As a fairly experienced Thai food patron I would highly advise to AVOID this “restaurant.” I even hate to write this review…
Ordered takeout and the food was delicious! Picking up my takeout was a breeze and the staff was very polite.
I got to have dinner at Siam country with my friend. So, let me get into it. The food was very good. The quality was great. I have to agree with my friend I wish the curry wasn’t as watery. You could really see how fresh each ingredient was. The service was great our waiter checked in often and asked how everything was often. The atmosphere was very inviting and welcoming. The waiter really was pleasant and it reminded me of when I had Thai food in Thailand. A very inviting feeling. Overall, I will say give Siam country a shot! You will like it a lot!
Came in for a quick dinner before the gym and they greeted me with kindness and quick service. I got the drunken noodles with tofu and halfway through forgot I had gotten tofu! The tofu was so well seasoned and prepared that I honestly thought I had gotten meat (I’m flexitarian meaning I eat meat but minimal amounts)! It had the perfect amount of spice (I got medium) and was the perfect amount of filling but not stuffed.
Nice cozy and delightful place to grab lunch. Feels like Sunday afternoon at Grandma's all over again. Unfortunately dined near two Karens who refused to compensate the staff for their hard work, so I'm leaving this review specifically to spite them. The family who runs this eatery are a delightful and polite bunch who make good, homey food for those who crave a taste of Southeast Asia. Support this small business if you can.
Two of us had a delicious lunch. The Pad Thai was very tasty! We started with a spicy soup somewhat like sweet and sour soup. Warm and yummy. Great service for the first 2 customers of the day.
Really good food, mostly neighborhood takeout spot. I live on the south side and anytime I’m nearby I order and come say hey. The owner is very friendly and funny, and the space is really tranquil and overlooked. Thank you all so much for years of service and I love you!
