I recently ate here, and the wait time from order to receiving your food is extremely long. I was on my lunch break, when I ordered, and was late getting back. In addition, the food was NOT worth the wait. I ordered a perch dinner for $15.99 (5 pieces, fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw). I was given a tiny cup of hot sauce for 5 pieces of fish, the fish had small bones in it and the skin of the fish was chewy, the fries were huge, broken, and some over fried. I was extremely disappointed because I was trying to patronize a black owned business, but I should have gone to one of the other fish places instead.
I have ordered here for years by recommendation, after covid the quality of food has changed. The pie slices for almost $4.00 dollars is smaller, like really small slices, the catfish and perch have shrunk significantly. When I ask for lemonade, sometimes I get grape, which I do not like. I ask for lemon pepper on the side, today I got a corner of the pepper that I paid for, it didn't fill the bottom of the thimble cup. The quality of food has gone down. I do not mind paying for the food, just would like to have what we pay for. Good quantity for the cost.last few times I've ordered, pie and lemonade that I havent received through ordering online. No type of reconciliation for that. This used to be the best spot in indy, its slowly changing.
Whiting was not fresh and severely overcooked. Fried green tomatoes were just puffs of batter no tomatoes present! And they forgot to give me my banana pudding!
Tried the perch and catfish dinners. Catfish was okay. Small pieces not filets. Perch was hard and not meaty. We tried the fried green tomatoes and it was a disappointment. I'm from the south so I didn't expect that standard but they were so thin it was like u were eating only the coating which was fishy. I was disappointed because I've had their fish in the past and it wasn't bad. This is twice I've been disappointed.
